I have started back into trying to get healthier. I is a very hard step by step process. I have been at it about two weeks now.
I found a cool new place today that you can get healthy drinks and their is a healthy activity everyday. They saw my husband's bike and told him a group bikes every morning. Pretty cool.



I have lost 9lbs so far. I feel good about that but, I have to get my numbers and health in check also. I started on vitamins and am trying to drink water. Wish me luck on changing my lifestyle.

Disappointed with myself

I am so disappointed with myself right now. I takes soo sooo very much to lose any weight on me at all. I am stressed and busy right now and have had a hard time keeping up losing weight. I have not had money to get any healthy foods right now and i am trying to do well in eating anyway but very hard. I also have been swimming but, it is not burning very many calories or doing anything that I can see.


I am holding on very hard to keep on going but, feeling so down that my hard efforts are not paying off right now. sigh.

at same current weight 200lbs.

    Search SP on losing weight on a tight budget. You might find it worth your while. Also keep tracking your nutrition, and evaluate your swimming for what you are doing. I went through the same scene, tightened up on my training, and also embraced patience. I found that stress eating cane be resolved by what you eat. Yeah, I might have though that I started looking like a rabbit but I got rid of all the garbage in my home. I also started planning my meals and snacks. I had to be honest with myself and that was the hardest part. The clincher was after I did all these things, reached my goals and got into maintaining, it was easy. I ad developed good habits. Stay strong and focused...all the best.

Keep up the swimming! I say this because that is all I have been allowed to do exercise wise. Also -

1. It is a full body workout.
2. You do actually sweat while swimming, you just do not know you are because you
are in the water.
3. Even treading water is considered good for your heart.
4. If you are having trouble actually swimming, try walking/running in the water - it is
harder than you think.
5. Work up to a goal # of laps. At one time I was swimming 40 laps in the pool
3x/week which amounted to 3kms/week. You have to ask one of the life guards
what the length of the lap lane is. 25m lenghth = 40 laps or 1km; 50m length =
20 laps or 1km.
6. If you do not already know all the strokes, try learning a new one.
7. Finally, swimming or playing in the pool is fun. The bouyancy is good for your
joints and by using paddle boards or other equipment available to you, you can
actually concentrate on specific body parts as well.

Hope this helps you out. I have been enjoying our pool immensely and as a matter of fact, going there is about 20 minutes.

Jam packed day

I worked my behind off yesterday to burn off some calories. I did my 5K virtual walk on a trail close to my house but, I was not wise to listen to advise and went on the hottest part of the day. It was soooooooo burning hot even with some shade. It slowed me way way down. I was proud that I finished it though even if it did take me an hour.
I then was so burning hot that I went to the pool and WOW it felt so wonderful!!! My family and I spent like two or three hours there enjoying the cool water and for the first time many neighbors who came down. I got to talk to some cool new neighbors. I paid hard for my day in the sun though with a blazing hot burnt face and arms and chest. Ouch. I learned that for me vasaline was a life savor--quickly took away pain but I had to cover up since it was oily.
Anyway cooked a new recipe and turned out so tasty. I loved it.

We then enjoyed some tv. I went to relax in my room in front of the fan and watch some netflix shows. All in all it was a great day and continued into today when I weighed myself and see that I have burned off 2lbs of the 3lbs I gained from my birthday. whoo hooo.

lost 15lbs. so far current weight: 200

This is the last meal I made before going to celebrate my birthday.

I am sad that I was not strong enough and fell into the temptation of bad foods and drink the three days I was celebrating my birthday. I wanted to fight it but, old habits and some slight pressure from family made me want to eat wrong. I am sad because it made me gain 3 pounds back but, I am going to jump back in there and get back to basics. I have now learned a hard lesson that I will use the right way next time faced with a holiday or situation.

    Wow - it took you 3 days to gain back weight? I went out of control just last night and woke up 3 lbs. heavier. I too, learned some things. The best we both can do is forgive ourselves, and learn those lessons well enough not to repeat them, my friend.

    Yes, jump in and take them all on! You can do it! All I've lost is 13 since the end of April...we all have pit falls, but as long as we jump back on our feet and keep going, we'll succeed! emoticon

A Lap in time

I had a pretty good day yesterday. My hubby was super attentive to me and gave me a long massage on my sore muscles. I went to the pool and did some laps for exercise and my shoulder is paying for it today but, it was good. I watched my shows The Glass House feed, and bachlorette, and Dollhouse. My hubby made us dinner. An African dish called Ugali and beef stew. I had a little portion since it is white cornmeal. Here are some pictures.



I think I will do walking and stretching early today so I can watch Glass house show and feed tonight.
