Making some progress in the right direction. Haven't been working out, but I'm trying to eat better, and of course VOWING to work out more, but in any case, I must be doing something a little bit right, and forming some good habits, because I'm maintaining and actually losing a little bit here and there. Almost at my second goal. :)

I've been so terribly busy lately (work, Katie's graduation, business trips, finishing up the church year with Sunday School and Midweek, finishing up the school year with the kids...Joelle's almost done, and planning the cruise) that I didn't even notice until now how close I was to my first weight loss goal! I met it yesterday, it seems. :)

Don't get me wrong -- I love summer! I can't wait to be able to walk outside every day, go to George's ballgames, hang out on the deck or at the firepit, and go on vacation. :)
But I'm in the last quarter of my 12 BfL weeks, and I'm failing.
Okay, not totally failing, but I've lost the workout habit, and that really bothers me. And I haven't broken the habit of snacking.
So, back to basics. And really cutting down on junk food. If I can do this for a few days, I'll feel better and start breaking that habit. But while I'm not really an emotional eater, I'm a mindless eater. I'm a grazer. Half the time I'm not even conscious that I'm reaching for chocolate or chips.
So, like I said, back to basics. And the nicer weather will help.
I'm going to take what works and keep it, and toss what doesn't. *nod*

I keep going back and forth with using this site. It motivates me for a bit, and then I get bored with using a website as a tool, and I go to other things.
I'm doing Body for Life, and I've got a coworker really keeping me accountable and giving me good advice, so that's awesome. I'm doing well, and pushing myself, but I'm not seeing any progress yet.
I've also, despite doing better nutrition-wise and activity-wise (I gave up soda last summer, fercryingoutloud, and it didn't really seem to help), gained about 15 pounds in the last year. I don't know why. I haven't been doing worse than before. I guess my metabolism has really changed lately.
I had my blood tested so I know it's not perimenopause, thyroid, anemia, or anything like that. I do think I have some sort of chronic sinus issue, though, because I'm not sleeping well, my breathing is shallow unless I think about it, and I have trouble getting enough air through my nose. I'm making an appointment with an ENT today.
In the meantime, it's back on the wagon with BfL -- and as a reminder, some snippets from my last blog post:
---------------------------------
No soda.
Work out six days a week, as Body for Life says to.
Eat six meals a day, as Body for Life says to (protein/carb in each, 2 veg, lots of water)
No snacking.
Most importantly for me, though, I need to really figure out if I'm hungry when I think I am. I just posted this on the bbs, and I need to do it:
Are you actually thirsty? Drink some water.
Are you actually bored? Find something else to do.
Are you wanting to eat out of habit? Don't.
Are you actually hungry? Be hungry for a bit.
Are you choosing to eat? Choose wisely.
Also! The WW hunger scale. Try to stay at 3. :)
1: Uncomfortably full
2. Ate too much
3. Satisfied (GOAL!)
4. Will be hungry soon (this is okay)
5. Famished
I reset my current weight, which really bugs me. I'm about to reset my smaller goals, too.

Wow, my "I'm trying this again" attempt didn't last long, huh? It lasted longer than it seems, because I just don't blog here much, but yeah, I fell off the wagon. Just got tired of tracking everything. It's tiresome. :P
Okay, so I'm doing a version of Body for Life. Doing the workouts, and trying to eat the way they tell you to. But for me it's baby steps.
I've given up soda almost entirely. It didn't do me any good, weight-wise, but it's a better thing to be drinking mostly water than mostly Pepsi, right? :P
Planning to work out every day but Sunday (though Tuesday is really a better "free day" for me, because I almost always have youth group that night, and it tends to be our fast food night. Might change this around.) and eat 6 small meals a day. That's the plan at least.
Something healthy first thing.
No soda.
Work out six days a week, as Body for Life says to.
No snacking.

Yep.
