no resolution for 2012

Thursday, December 29, 2011

Nope..... not going to do that. I'm not waiting until next week to begin my renewed healthy life style resolutions, etc. It begins today. It's a nice sunny morning and I am energized to get out there in the coolness of the day and walk.... run.... My hibernation is over for the holidays. 5.5 pounds later...I must admit this was the worst indulgence of holiday foods and lack of physical exercise since joining SP in 2008. Just didn't seem to care getting caught up eating with the best of them...all the goodies and junk people brought to work, homes I visited, gifts from friends and neighbors..... yes....bring it all...let me try it...yummy.... who cares...we're ALL eating it...why not me too! Eggnog??? Homemade?? Oh yes, that too and if that wasn't enough, how about that hot spiced wine and chocolates from Europe.... oh... pamper me.... tis the season! ugh..... let's fast forward!
For Christmas, I got new workout pants and top, a new yoga mat....bigger, better
padding, and a balance board. From cluttered Christmas wrapping and bows to workout area..... I am psyched today. As for all those edible goodies...they are GONE...gone I tell you.... devoured and digested.... My new year, my new life begins today - not next week.
Today, I look forward to
My walk in the sun
My new work out clothes
My new mat and board
My new SP workout program
My renewed spirit
My goal: Weigh in at 150 by March 24 - it's been way too long to keep saying it! I'm the bulldozer moving straight forward beginning today

Not just greens

Friday, October 21, 2011

As I was cleaning out my china cabinet today, I ran into a pretty box filled with folded notes. I knew right away what they were although had completely forgotten them as they were stashed away.
The folded notes are little ideas such as "Try a new SP recipe today", "walk an extra mile", "clean one closet out in your house this week", "call a long time friend you haven't heard from", etc....... I remember how excited I was to make those notes and at pulling one out to read. Well, With renewed enthusiasm, I started again today. My note asks that I eat no meat of any kind only fruits and veggies this coming week. New ones I've never tried. Tonight I purchased spaghetti squash, UTubed best cooking and oh my god it was delicious and filling and only 40 cals per cup. I'm extremely excited - not just to try new veggies but just to see how much weight I'll lose at weigh in next Saturday. Woohoo to greens...well and of course all other colors veggies bless us with. :)

New season, new beginning

Sunday, August 29, 2010

After reading my response to one of the chat topics, I decided I'd copy it to my blog because I feel it will motivate me even more each time I feel I need to read it. :)

I've gained 6 pounds over the summer and not all at once. Just ever so gradually. I just let my guard down with all our programs at work that offer food and I'm too busy to make my own, etc., etc. Could make excuses till the cows come home. Bottom line, I've never lost the conscious effort to maintain... it eats at me daily. That's a good thing because it keeps me aware. So....

1. To remotivate I began today by giving my SP facepage a facelift. New colors, new picture and updated my info and goals - even new tracker icons.
2. I remeasured myself and entered the slight increases as well as my weight increase rather than keep the lower numbers I once earned. I was honest with myself.
3. I intend to be totally honest with my nutritional tracker. Really.... I can lie to myself on a few calories here and there but that only hurts me...so EVERY morsel and beverage will be once again accounted for because THAT makes a HUGE difference.
4. I plan to start back on my strength exercises this evening. I worked hard in my yard this summer but no matter what....it isn't the same as exercising all the muscle groups.

I'm excited and renewed to get back into this full blast and lose that last 10 pounds. I've made a realistic goal to reach 150 by end of Oct.

Just start over and don't look back.

6 to go please

Monday, May 31, 2010

Well, tomorrow is June 1 and I didn't make my 5 pound goal to 150. I have now 6 if maybe not 7 pounds to lose to reach it. I was on track.....even got to 154. My lowest ever but..... I got a second job...temp only which took out of my running and working out routine. How easy it is to lose that routine.
BUT.....I'm done with the temp job and give myself to July 1 to reach that 150 mark. It took forever to get over the 160 hump and I won't allow that with the 155 hump. By 1 July I will weigh in at 150. yep yep yep. It's time to pick it up again. Fresh fruits are all coming into season, water is tasting better in the heat of the day and well, the outdoors is mine to do what I want. It's up to me and here we go. Till then - and it begins today - May 31!

Great attitude. Just make sure that six to go doesn't include a six pack of beer.

I'm right there with you (although I'm at the 160 mark and can't stay under it forlove or money). Congratulations on your successes to this point. You can do this - we'll both get there.

Good for you! Make sure your counting your calories. When someone gets stuck, it's often because they have more calories or aren't exercising enough!!! Keep up the good work. YEA you!!! emoticon emoticon

Forward, backward, forward, backward, forward, backward........

Saturday, April 24, 2010

It's all about 2 steps forward, one step back. I'm very happy with my accomplishments and no longer beat myself up with a couple pounds of weight gain. I've decided anything less than a 4 pound gain is nothing to panic about. I step it up in my cardio, step it down in my caloric intake and lose not only the 4 but an additional 2 or 3. I know in my heart of hearts I'll never allow myself to be where I came from. I'll make it to the 150. Been very close and got side tracked with trips and conferences and regained 3.5 pounds. SOOOOOO easy to do but as of today..... it's another 2 steps forward and the next blog will be at my ideal weight of 150 by June 1.

Well said! You are focusing on the big picture which is hard to do sometimes. The past 2 weeks I had gained, but this week, I lost because I paid more attention to what I was eating, etc. Keep up the good work and you will be at your goal soon! Good luck!
