WMS Pic Challenge: Week 2

so...no change this week, in fact, I think I look bigger. It IS TOM, which, I KNOW, is TMI. :)
K, here it is... week 1 and 2 side by sides:




It is what it is! Next week will be better. My weight this morning was down .7 from last week. We'll see what tomorrow holds, not holding my breath because I know that I didn't give it my all this past week. I could have done better, so, tomorrow and the days after that I'll do better. Cause that's the only way I'm going to see results! :)

    It looks like you took the picture at a closer distance so that is why you feel you look bigger. I def see some changes! Keep it up and don't stop! Period woes suck!

    I agree - TOM can do some wonky things to the body

and I have the same problem trying to get the same "shot" - I'm hoping I get better at it as time goes on

and I think in a two week period, or a month, that is when the changes will be the most noticeable - I'm going to skip this week and I'm hoping to see something more visible at the next session

but that said, I do see a difference in the shape of your thigh, that is very noticeable!

find a spot on the floor to stand
posture makes a difference too

    I'd like to say that you think you look bigger but one your second picture is a closer shot and 2 you look more toned and lifted all over so at least your toning up.

TOM is any womens night mare you make progress then the scale jumps and you feel defeated.ok so i put between a modest lb up to 7lbs everytime and it always gets the best of me.

Thats what i like about these type of challenges it's nice to know that other women bloat, gain and binge when TOM hits but we can all shrink together too!

Can't wait to see next weeks pics.

    emoticon Good Luck! I don't know why blogging about TOM is always TMI. I feel the same way when I blog, but sometimes you just feel you have to mention it! And it is your blog, so if you want to talk about it, don't feel bad. After all, it effects or has effected all of the women on here at some point! :)

    TOM does make me bloated ;p I was told , any change during TOM means huge changes when it goes away. i did a poll and SP-friend gains anywhere between 3-6 lbs during TOM

and it was true, i lost some inches and it translated 2 wks later when my TOM disappear (mirena wierd TOM)

Pre-Challenge Assignment #1 ~

Have you got your gym clothes, runners, water bottle, etc. ready to go?
I have the gym clothes that I have, no new ones. I'm going to try and continue with the shoes I already have, but either before the challenge ends, or very soon after I'll need to get some new ones. Water bottles are check. So, mostly I think I have everything I need. I just need to make sure that every evening I have everything out and ready for exercising in the morning.

What is your exercise plan?
*WiiFit or Spark Exercise video AT LEAST 10 minutes once a day.
*JustDance with my son AT LEAST 3x a week for as long as we feel like!
*Elliptical AT LEAST 3x a week for 10 minutes. I'd like to gradually increase my time, if not my frequency to 30 minutes.

Do you know what diet you will follow?
I'm following my low-sodium, low-stress diet. This diet is one that I've slightly modified from my doc.
*whole grains, maybe milk and fruit for breakfast
*healthy snack (almonds, applesauce, yogurt, goldfish!)
*homemade soup with one serving of grain (bread, crackers) and one serving of fruit for lunch
*healthy snack (almonds, applesauce, yogurt, goldfish!)
*one portion meat, carb, all the steamed veg I can eat
I make sure I stay under 1500 calories by tracking, I try to stay as close to 1200 as I can (as prescribed by my doc), but that is near impossible for me. I gotta eat when I'm hungry or I go overboard! water water water!

Do you know how to connect with your team mates?
Yes! I plan on checking the team page and message boards every day (ok, at the least once a week, but hopefully more like every day!)

    Hey...that looks awesome. The plans are all good....but...also the FONTS!! How in the heck did you do that...I really want to know!

    Sounds like a good start of your plan.

I would see about getting better shoes. There is famous foot wear and Volume shoe store or maybe get lucky and find some on a web site or a 2nd hand store. Sales might come up also like JC Penney or other stores like Kohls.

I hope you have a great week. Just package your foods for the week and grab and go. I always have a water in my car also. Then you are getting more water in and sipping away.

WMS Pic Challenge: Week 1

I cannot believe I'm posting this, but whatever, I'm going to be a superwoman.
Shoot, I AM a SUPERWOMAN!!! I'm just having a teensy freak out about putting these up. I couldn't decide between a front shot and the sideways shot, so I did the side by side of both. So, today...week 1... I'm ~187. The top is a 14/16 clingy, polyestery, tank top that I would LOVE to be able to wear without a cover up...also I'd like for what you could see beyond the cover up to not be a lumpy mess. :D The bra is probably NEVER going to fit right, but we'll see! What I will say about it, is that it's a wireless, and I've always dreamed about being able to wear a wireless bra. I am crazy, I know, but I'm allowed to dream big for this challenge (or small as the case may be!) The bottoms are a size L (which I haven't been in YEARS).

Please excuse the harsh lighting, hopefully next week I'll find a better spot...

He's excited that this article shows that I'm doing something good for my health. ha! Sometimes I guess it takes a WSJ article for peeps higher up to think something is legit! At least now when people ask me why I'm doing it I can point to that article which succinctly states how there is research out there to support standing as part of a healthier lifestyle, instead of going on a long winded rambling about my health/weight loss journey.

Great start to my Monday, especially after having to sit on Wed. & Thurs., something with my allergies was making me feel sick. I'll have none of that today, thank you very much!

    KUDOS again for doing something so great for you! I wouldn't be surprised if you start to see others in your company following suit (and then maintenance will have to figure out how to get more of those adjustable desks, lol)!

    I completely agree that the standing makes a difference! I sit at home a lot, I sit at school. I do at least get some variety of sitting and standing and walking at work, but I'm only there a couple hours. I could absolutely do more moving and shaking during the day, but I don't. Today will be my mission to walk/move more and sit less! Thanks for the reminder!

    oh man, i NEVER get close to 10k. Typically I'll hit 3,500 to 4k. Sometimes I'll get close to 5k, once I even got up to 7k, but never 10. I've tried a daily routine of exercising, stairs, standing all day, chores...only sitting to drive my car and eat. That's when I get close or over 5. I have no idea what to do get close to 10. When I do it, I'll let you know! haha!

great job in being WSJ hip - it might lead to a promotion - at the very least you got noticed!

bummer on the allergies - hope you feel better soon!

every time I read about your work station, I keep thinking about how I sit too much during the day - when I wear a step counter, I never get close to 10k (how much do you get in a day?) - I really need to rethink things to get up on my feet more and stay active during the day - I really do think it is one of the reasons my hubby is so skinny even though he has a desk job, he's up and fidgity all the time, walking around the shop
