Yep, I've been MIA -but for good & fun reason: a family reunion in Arizona! The Sacramento Clan (mom, pop, cousin & myself) headed to Arizona, Thursday May 13th. The weather was fantastic and the drive down wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. We stopped in Desert Palms CA for a joyful visit w/another cousin that wasn't going to be able to make it to the reunion (she's been confined to a wheelchair after a stroke). From there it was onto Scottsdale AZ, checking in at the Scottsdale Camelback Resort -(great place to stay by the way) Friday afternoon. From then on it was a whirl of activity visting with my dad's nieces & nephews & their families!

The Saquaro cactus were all blooming, as well as many of the other cactus in the area. One of the must do activities was a visit to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix around 5:30 in the afternoon. What a fantastic botanical garden, I am so glad we were there at sundown -it was beautiful and full of wildlife: including a desert tortoise (what a treat it was to see him).

In addition, I flew my nephews in for their first visit to Arizona & meeting their grandfathers side of the family. I of course had to take them on side trip to the spectacular south rim of the Grand Canyon & beautiful Sedona, AZ.

Needless to say, I did a lot of walking in Arizona: at the Peoria Sports Complex for a Junior League baseball game, the Desert Botanical Garden, city/area parks, the Grand Canyon, & Sedona and I loved every minute of it! Unfortunately I just never found the time to log it all in on SparkPeople. But I'm ok with that. Now that I'm back home in Sacto I'll be able to get back to "Sparking".
