Bigger BY THE MINUTE

This time last year, I was 30 pounds LIGHTER

...

This time THIS year, I dont even want to know! Im in a downward weight spiral and I dont know how to get myself out of it. I can only continually pray and push myself. I pray this summer I will be able to get myself to get indefinitely.

We`ll see. Im not too hopeful.

I agree with the other two, you are here and that's the most important thing. You have made two important steps, realizing that you need help and joining SP and this team. We are here to help you in anyway that we can. You have to let us know how we can help.

    Just by being part of the SP community means that you are taking action. Take a look through the site again and start taking the some steps to get you going again on your get healthy journey....sometimes just getting started is the toughest part...

I am sooo blessed! Awhile ago, I talked to a friend of mine (whom also helped bring me closer & more righteous in my walk towards christ) about helping me work out. She is a BLESSED! individual. I thank God for bringing her into my life. I asked her could she help me work out? and get myself back on track! and she has.

Today we had our first work out... whew! I`m tired. I forgot about this feeling. I didn't complain ONE time- I carefully took her instruction and appreciated all the time she could give me, as she usually charges upwards to $30! for her services (which as a college student on my own, I could never afford)

I do also realize that with her help, it is also going to take me GETTING BACK ON TRACK! CHAMIEKA has to want to do it, because she wont be here with me every minute! I hope that my Spark-people friends help hold me accountable.. I`d very much so appreciate it.

It feels good! I pray I can keep this up!

Spark "people" I have let myself go. I mean, Ive let mySELF completeley GO!

I feel like I lost a race I was once winning. This time last year I had lost almost 20 pounds! And guess what? I gained it ALL BACK! I feel just as fat & worthless as I did originally. I feel very worthless.

    It is hard to reprogram the way we think and feel. Being overweight is truly a disease ....but something we can get better from. Wiping slate clean and starting over. You have already taken responsibility SO STOP beating yourself up. Now what are we going to do from here...get you back and keep you on track. I'm here for you!!!! Are you ready to make the commitment? I've fallen off and beaten myself up BUT in the end its just discouragement and discredit. WE ARE worth it! We dont want to feel like this anymore...lets fix it TOGETHER! You are beautiful...no matter what! We can do this!!!

I have lost and gained, lost and gained, and this time with a complete lifestyle change it will be permanent. Please dont give up and dont be mad with yourself.

    I know exactly how you feel. I have lost weight 2 other times, and both times gained it ALL back plus some. The second time I felt so defeated and discouraged. I had just resolved to be fat. I climbed back on this wagon January 3. It hasn't been easy, but I have seen that I can do this with God's help. Not only can I do it, but I should do it. YOU are not worthless. You deserve being healthy for you, you are worth making time for those healthy decisions. You can do it. I will scoot over and share my seat with you. Climb back on and take one day, one moment, one meal, and one choice at a time.

    No one is worthless. We are all here for a reason. Just think that you were able to do it last year so you can do it again this year. I don't know anyone that hasn't gained the weight they lost as least once. Does a smoker quit the first time around....not likely. The idea is to pick yourself up again and discover what it is that makes you fall and try to not fall again. emoticon

    I find one of the hardest things to do is be kind to myself.
You are worth infinite x 1,000,000 ampules of love - for yourself and, from Louise Hay,
"Deep at the center of myself, there is an infinite well of love, I now allow this love to flow through me and send it out in all directions and love returns to me multiplied. The more love I use and give, the more I have to give. The use of love makes me feel good."
I say this affirmation sitting, or running and it really helps me to feel the love.
When I go to a fitness class after being away, I say, this is for me, I will just do what I can...and that works for me.

Im not quite sure whats going on with me. This time last year, you couldnt pull me off an Elliptical Trainer..and now? I have no motivation. I never really lost A LOT of weight, but I lost enough through all the craziness that I was going through. I told myself that when I moved out on my own that I was truly going to make a vow to change things up. I know being FAT is not where it`s "at" it makes so many more aspects of life so DIFFICULT! INCLUDING DATING..UGGH! idk where my motivation has gone... because its not here :(

    Try doing something FUN for exercise! Ballroom dance, folk dance, or Zumba, maybe.

    We all have our own trials. Can you set a goal for 1 week from now and think of the things that set you up for success - a habit for the elliptical or... For me, if I write down a plan, put a reminder on the mirror so I see it in the morning [and have to face it] and tell other people I am doing the plan - that is pretty powerful. Then I still have to do my personal things - like watch Kim Burrell sing on YouTube and get down on my knees and pray (and I'm not even religious).

    Every journey is different...pick a different fitness activity to start and once you get to it, you'll go back to the elliptical...What do you think?

    Motivation ebbs ad flows. Maybe trying something new would help, rather than trying to get back into what you did before. Do you have access to a pool for swimming or water aerobics? A neighbor to walk with? Or a coworker for a lunchtime walk? Start small, and stay here on the boards with all of us. We all ebb and flow.

    I used to love lifting weights and working with the weight machines. Now i have weights at home and haven't taken them out of the case! Let's work on this together,

  Changing is hard. For me, there is always a "point" where things will change, but it's never now. It's "Monday will be the beginning" or "when I move out I can..." or "when my food settles I'll go for that walk." We've been reinforcing our bad habits for years, it takes a while to stop them. But- You can. :) Try to find ways to reward yourself- shopping? Girls night out? Keep it up- you're here- you're trying!

It has been another crazy year.. but none the less I MADE IT! I have come so far! First year of college, next year University... this is big. I truly can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!
