Unsticking my Stuck

Monday, June 07, 2010

Yup. Had great success (lost 8 lbs) when doing my first week of BFC. Then I decided bread was more important, followed by chocolate, chocolate, and more.

Errrrrrrt. (insert sound of squealing brake).

U-turn. I am back on the program. Doing fine. Steering clear of sugar and sweets. Need to make a few more adjustments, including meal planning, buying groceries and making food at home, and getting back to walking and/or the gym.

I put on my pedometer this morning. I'll be walking over to the library in a little bit. I have some books to return. 10,000 steps would be great. I'm shooting for 8,000 for today.

Top 3 goals for today:

1) Walk 8,000 steps
2) Name 3 positive things about myself (resilient, encouraging to others, sunny attitude)
3) Stop at HMart to buy chicken (and maybe fish) after work

1 goal down! Two to go!!!

Have a beautiful day, sparkies!

    Hey Miggle_Mom

You know u-turns are illegal, LOL. But the best of us fall off the wagon at some point and have to make a u-turn to get back in the right lane. As long as you keep moving forward and not backwards, then you will be successful.

    You totally ROCK!!!!

I love your list and I love that you included something that is being good to yourself on it! How many steps did you get today? The weather is awesome, if your numbers aren't making you too happy, you could always take a stroll. Then again, if your numbers made you happy, you could take a stroll and up them even more...lol...

We all know that I think you're the best there is!

Good for you and the positive attitude. It is so important to remember that ever time we fall it really is up to us to make the choice to stand back up again.

Yes, I too have fallen from the path. Lots of chiggers and cuckburs in the tall grass. They tend to add a few unwanted companions to the journey. I like your list. The best cheerleader you can ever have is the one that is with you all the way and ever day.

emoticon for your second, since you already met it!

Good luck.

Stepping UP to the Plate

Thursday, June 03, 2010

One day at a time. I am all too completely aware of my shortcomings. I could rattle off a dozen in 30 seconds. Rattling off a dozen things I like about myself is more of a challenge --- but here is something that I have just caught on to ---- it is completely within my power to be who I want to be.

Here is a quote from one of my students who just graduated on why she loves me:
" I love you for many reasons - your ability to love and laugh, your kindness, and your many jokes to name a few."

I am taking those words to heart. If a 22 year old and find some wonderful qualities in me, then it should be much easier to do it myself. :)

It's true, we are our harshest critics. Take a cue from your student and celebrate the best of you!

why is it that everyone around us see the good in us and we can't see it if we look in the mirror. It is wonderful that someone had the courage to tell you how wonderful you are. What a beautiful gift.

FRIDAYS!

Friday, May 28, 2010

I love Fridays! Today is a great day! I've had some very positive interactions with co-workers, including hearing that someone I don't really like is leaving! WOO HOO! Some of my old staff may come back to visit this wknd. Have a couple of days off, then work a bit, and have another couple of days off. SWEETNESS!

Making lifestyle changes. They are not perfect, but they are coming along perfectly well. I had a little chocolate this morning and it actually gave me a headache. Surprising. My body has adapted to none. HA! Joke's on me.

I am happy and enjoying life. Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Throwdown

Thursday, May 27, 2010

I'm currently on a program where sugar is very limited. It's not that I could not have something, but if I ate "x", then I would prob blow my day's sugar allotment with just a nibble.
Yesterday was that day when I was working later than normal, and I wanted that piece of "x".
X called to me. X was singing a song to me in my head. Why don't brussel sprouts serenade you? There must be a reason for that.

I was able to beat that craving down. How did I do it? I don't really know. In that moment, though, I was stronger than "x." Yippee! I felt rewarded that I avoided it when I was one more pound down this morning. (2 days ago I was up a half pound).

Two more LONG days ahead of me: today and tomorrow. I woke up at 4am. Hubby's temporary hours are really screwing with my sleeping schedule. I think I will leave around 8 tonight and the same or longer tomorrow. I threw some extra chicken in my lunch bag today. It will help me to beat down the next craving. I'll be ready for the next throwdown. ;)
