Hi Spark Friends!!!!
I hope everyone had a great 2012 and is getting geared up for an awesome 2013!!!!!
I think my year was fairly successful, even though I didn't get to my goal weight, in fact, I think I am up a few pounds from this time last year!
I am happy to say that I met and surpassed my goal of 12 races in 2012... with 14 races done... including a full marathon, a 25 K, a couple of half marathons, and a bunch of 5 K's!!
I am going to concentrate on the half marathon distance next year, I have already signed up for a couple, and have my first 2 races of 2013 this week.... a 4 mile fun run tomorrow and a 10K trail run on Saturday... that one might be interesting in the snow!!!
I have been eating mostly Paleo since Thanksgiving..... and lost about 10 pounds.... I am doing a Whole30 (I am SUPER excited about this) starting on the 2nd!!!!! It's amazing to me how much less I was craving junk and wanting to overeat when I was eating all Paleo foods... I let myself eat all the Holiday goodies, and while I didn't gain as much as last year, I still feel crappy and I am now craving junk... so I am looking forward to getting that OUT of my system!!!
I got a FitBit One for Christmas.... and I am getting the Jillian Michael's Body Revolution DVD series delivered soon... I am excited for both of those!!!!

Hi Spark Friends!!!!
I am sorry that I am such a bad blogger!!!;-)
I have done quite a bit since I last wrote a blog.
I gave up on Paleo because it was too restrictive. I re-started with Weight Watchers, but I am doing the on-line version only, which is much less expensive. Interestingly enough, I can look back to my weight from last year, and I joined WW last time almost the same time of year at almost the same weight. I was only 3 pounds heavier when I started WW in 2011. I got to my lowest recent weight of 159 in December of 2011, so I am hoping to do the same this year, except not gain SO much weight over the Holidays and give up in Jan/Feb.
On the running front, I should be able to easily meet my goal of running 12 races in 2012. I ran a half marathon on Sept. 29th....it was quite odd for a half marathon.... it was basically a "fun run"....it wasn't chip timed, or timed at all even!!! My garmin results were 1:53, but I am not "counting" that as a PR, since it wasn't official. I hadn't done a half marathon in the past couple of years, since I had been working on being faster, so my current PR was 2:04 or something like that. It was a fun race though, it celebrated the bakery and brewery in the town it was held in.....so they had donuts and beer after!!!!:-)
It was also perfect weather and saw lots of great fall colors!!!
My "big" race for the fall was the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco. I got to hang out with some girlfriends for the long weekend, and we had SO much fun!!!!!
I was hoping to finish in less than 2 hours, considering the hills, and wouldn't you just know it....I finished in 2:00:00!! I couldn't do that again if I tried!!!!
My Garmin wasn't working, so I didn't know what pace I was running, some people said it was due to the cable car wires, but some people's Garmins worked fine. The other problem was that I signed up for the 9-10 min/ mile pace start corral when I signed up for the race months ago, and should have been in the corral faster than that, so I was stuck behind a lot of people and running on the sidewalks for the first couple of miles......and those hills were pretty crazy!!!! Overall, it was awesome, and I LOVE my Tiffany finishers necklace!! We are already trying to figure out which race to meet at next, maybe the Nike's new race in D.C. in April.....that would be scenic!!!!
I have a few more 5 K races left this year, one next weekend, along with a 1 mile mud run on Sunday. Then I have the Yule Run and I'll Walk 5K in November and a 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. This is my favorite time of year for running!!!!!!

Hi Spark Friends!!!!
I am still here!!!!!! And still TRYING!!!!
I am experimenting with paleo (-ish) for the past week. I decided to try this for two reasons. I have been having some GI issues during some of my long runs recently, and one of my friends has been doing paleo lately, and reports that her sweet and carb cravings are gone!!!
I am only weighing myself once a week, so I will see where I am on Wednesday!!!
I did my second Warrior Dash yesterday, it was a LOT of fun!!!! I started with a big group of friends, but I ended up going ahead after the obstacles started. There were two water obstacles, they were fun!!!
I can feel the muscles I used today, my upper back muscles especially!!!
I did a 9 mile long run today, I have a half marathon in 2 weeks, and then......San Fran in less than a month!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!

Well, apparently I can only stay on track for a week!!!:-(
I went to visit a friend and went through the Burger King drive-thru.....darn those yummy sweet potato fries and frappe!!!! I then decided to stop to get ice cream "for the boys"...but I got some too, and I just continued to eat poorly all day!!!:-(
It seems like some people can have one indulgence, and then go back to normal eating, but I can't seem to.....bah!!!!!!!!
I was planning on making Wednesday my weekly official weigh-in day, so I am sure to be no where near my goal of 169 tomorrow!!!!:-(
I don't know what to do different, so I will just keep trying!!!!

This will be a short one, I need to wake up in 6 hours to go to the gym!!!!
I had my weigh-in at the gym this AM.....175 pounds!!!:-(
That is 5 pounds up from the day before, but 2 pounds is clothes, and I always seem to "gain" 2-3 pounds of water weight the day after a long run, so should be back down tomorrow.
I stayed on track for everything today!!!! (actually I was 1 gram short of fat, but good enough!!!)
I am headed to bed now, nightie night!!!!:-)
