Free pizza at my gym tonight. Seriously? OMG!Monday, July 02, 2012
I pushed myself out the door this evening to go to the gym because the left over cold pizza was calling my name. "Lori, You know you love cold pizza...come here. Eat me!". I didn't have any yesterday and wasn't going to let it tempt me today. ![]()

Perhaps they think they are helping get people in the door? I want to think the best of people...

Serve free pizza--people eat it (of course they do most people can't resist free stuff)--they gain weight (and wonder why)--keep spending money at your gym to lose it--free pizza again--its a vicious cycle!! lol Comment edited on: 7/12/2012 2:07:11 PM Report Inappropriate Comment |

Its probably some kind of marketing thing. You know feed everyone pizza so they can feel good about the weight they lost and then gain it back and have to pay for another month of the gym.

I was wondering if they give you an electric shock or something when you reach for a slice. Why would they tempt people in that way? I don't get it! Report Inappropriate Comment |

HAHA, I totally agree! I just joined PF and they do the same thing in my area, it makes absolutely NO sense and why would anyone want to work out being tempted by PIZZA!

Congrats on resisting the pizza. I couldn't do it. I don't think it's right having a pizza night at a gym. I get that they are trying to show customer appretiation, but it's a gym, they should be promoting health Report Inappropriate Comment |

Congrats on resisting the pizza temptation! That is crazy that they serve pizza at a gym. Are they trying to encourage gym members to socialize? Couldn't they do that by having a buffet with fresh fruit instead? A friend had wanted me to join PF, but now I'm glad I joined the place that I did. :-) Report Inappropriate Comment |

I liked this blog because I am viewing it as comedy. My brain refuses to accept the chance that your story is true, so I am telling myself that you are a professional comedian. It's nice of you to practice your material with us!!! (GROSS, pizza smell while working out? that's just disgusting) Good for you to resist twice in one night!! Report Inappropriate Comment |

First, good for you for resisting. I would have probably worked out "harder" (but not really) and rationalized a slice. Second, you'd think the gym could do pizza but show you how to do it in a "healthy" way, like whole-wheat crust, half the cheese, extra veggies. Maybe they feed you so you get fat and keep coming back thinking you'll work it off (see point one)? I know I read this on Spark somewhere: You can't exercise your way out of a bad diet. Wow!! Never heard of such a thing! -- And outside my gym is a reader board about running groups and summer workout opportunities. It's one thing to give away these free / sample "meal" bars (that should rightfully be called CANDY bars!), and another thing to promote poor nutrition. Though, arguably, one is not that different than the other... It is kind of like the checkout stands at the grocery stores filled with a myriad of candy choices--putting it all right in your face. (I used to say out loud, when my kids were younger & would ask: "obviously the store wants you to handle their junk since they put it there for kids to beg for!?!") Guess we could all rant about society speaking out of both sides of their mouth, so to speak! (hahaha) We question why there is so much obesity, and then we promote GARBAGE for food at every turn. We have to figure out how to put on our own "blinders" so we can focus on the nutrition that MATTERS! Sorry about your negative experience. -- I would question the intent of a gym that promotes "free pizza"! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Well, you obviously make a VALID POINT. Can't you complain to the management? Put a complaint in the suggestion box? The obvious contradiction between their mission and their actions should make them ashamed of themselves! Why not first Monday veggie & dip night? But -- (1) they want to do something "fun" and "different" and (2) pizza is cheap. But really, this is horrible. If you complain I'm sure they'll say something like "Well, all food in moderation" but YOU know they are in the wrong and THEY know they are in the wrong. No one should have to put up with this at the gym. If you do complain I hope you'll let us know what response you get. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I'm always searching for this page since it's tough to find, so I thought I would blog about it.
Every wonder who hasn't added you as a friend?
Every wonder who has added you as a friend but you haven't?
To find out everyone who has added you as a friend, everyone you've added as a friend, and all of your mutual friends:
1. Select 'Friend Feed' from the 'Community' option in the Toolbar.
2. In the first paragraph on the Friend Feed page, find 'Click Here' and click it.
There are a couple of Butterfly team members (GEMINISUE & TRAVELGRRL) that haven't added me.
