:o) March Goals

Monday, February 28, 2011

My goals for the month of March:

1) Exercise everyday.
2) Stay in my calorie range 6/7 days.
3) Take some "Me Time" at least once a week.
4) Lose 6+ pounds.

I didn't make good food choices today. My self control didn't exist.

I did rake more leaves out of the ditches and moved everything out of my utility room again. I am going to make sure the dryer works tomorrow before I move it all back in.

MaKayla had 2 doctors appointments this evening so I didn't do much this evening. We fixed pizza for dinner and I helped her with her homework. She was falling asleep before we got it all finished.

Thank God tomorrow starts a new month. I didn't end this month on a high note.

Today is a new day!! Weekends are tough for me b/c they aren't as structured as the week and it always throws me off my game. Ass long as I'm on the wagon more than I am off the wagon, I feel like I'm successful. We can do this!!!

I didn't end the month on a high note either. I expect March to be much better than February has been!

Wonderful Sunday

Sunday, February 27, 2011

I sort of took it easy today. Hubby and I walked 30 minutes. This was a feat within itself...I got hubby to walk!! I was planning on MaKayla and I doing Zumba, but we opted out and lounged around.

I did stay on the low end of my calorie range, drank all of my water and stayed below 2300 on my sodium.

So a good Sunday. emoticon

I LOST 1.2 POUNDS MY FIRST WEEK!!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

emoticonThe scales showed a 1.2 drop in my weight. I am so excited to see my ticker move down. I need to lose 1.4 pounds to make my 5% challenge goal for the week, but I will take this. At least I now know I can lose weight, even when I don't think I did very good. I can't wait to see how I do when I master the new healthy changes I am learning.

I didn't get the treadmill today. I did get a raincheck and did a whole lot of walking. emoticon

I did good drinking water today, but had more than 2 cans of Pepsi. Now I know I need to preplan where we are going to eat when Mom and I go shopping. Mom is losing weight without trying, so it is good to see her eat. In a way I wish I had her problem. She has always been tiny and can eat all day. This makes the second time she has been told not to lose anymore and to try to put a little on. It could be that she loves healthy foods, I have seen her eat veggies all day, even a whole bag of radishes in a day.

So I got my exercise in for today. I counted 90 minutes of walking even though we walked about 4 hours. I completed my strength training as soon as I got home. emoticon

Now about the sodium. I learned alot today about eating out. So what if you didn't have breakfast. If you eat out twice and don't watch what you eat, the calories really accumulate. I consumed over 2150 calories and only ate twice today. My sodium was 4302. emoticon We had lunch at Pizza Hut and dinner at Sam's Hotdog.

I will have to really work to make up for today. I guess live and learn applies here. emoticon

Every victory is a just that. . .a victory! One of the things I am personally trying to do is to pack to go snacks to have on hand. When I go out I just grab a couple. . .nuts premeasured, an apple cut up sprayed w/lemon juice, prepackaged raisons. . . just to name a few. You can do this!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think I learn a little more about my healthy lifestyle each of these challenges that I am in. I still struggle with the sodium, but I hope to make at least 5 points today!

Congrats on the loss!!! I did weight Watchers a long time ago with my mom and husband, and after our meeting and weigh in, we would go out to lunch - either Olive Garden or Outback - and eat whatever we wanted, figuring it was our one "bad" meal and then we could be good the rest of the week. Sometimes I think we need to have a "bad" day to make us appreciate the good ones. I know I always crave salad after a bad day :)

Congrats on your loss! :) Also, I think we can learn more from tracking our bad days then we could eating lettuce all day and tracking that. It is an experience learned, you tracked it and accounted for it, definitely a success!
Eating out is always tricky, I think I will avoid it completely during this week of tracking sodium! :) It sounds like you had a great day with your mom, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Congratulations on the weight loss, but remember that sometimes you need a day to just eat whatever you want, because if you don't it will make it harder to ward of the cravings and then you give up to easily. Good Luck with you journey, you are doing fine.

Day 7 ~~ I thought I made progress...but...

Friday, February 25, 2011

I complete my strength training early today. I vaccummed all the carpets. Then I moved everything except the washer and dryer out of the utility room, so the repairer would have room to work. This consisted of full hampers, tool box, hockey table, pet foods, and cleaning supplies. He came and worked for an hour. When he left he said it was repaired. You should have seen the lint inside my dryer. Could have been part of the problem.

I swept and mopped the utility room and moved everything back. Then I rode my exercise bike for 35 minutes.

Between the heavy cleaning, moving furniture, strength training and exercise bike, I exercised 100 minutes. A new record for me. Not much compared to most, but I am really proud of myself. I didn't exercise regularly at all before this week. What a difference a week can make. I can't wait to see what I can accomplish in another week.

Oh, I washed a load of jeans. Went to check them when the dryer stopped. They were not dry, but they were warm. I turned them on again. A few minutes later, I heard a strange noise. The tub and quit tumbling. emoticon There is jeans hanging all over my house.

MaKayla had an accident at school. She came home wearning strange jeans. She most definitely wasn't a happy camper. Poor baby.

Things have to get easier...right?

My plans for tomorrow: Weigh-in and go get treadmill.

Congrats on all the workouts :) Sorry about the dryer. Mine is going to die soon, just know it. My dad has been able to make little repairs up until now, but I think the machine is older than me (it came with the house so I'm not totally sure).

Sorry to hear about your dryer. Mine isn't drying as well as I would like, thinking I have lint to clean out as well.

Congrats on all of your exercise!!! You should be proud of yourself and don't worry about what "most" are doing. Everyone is at different stages of their weight loss/health journey and what they do is right for them so you only need to compare what is right for you. If I can get 15 minutes a day I am happy, it is 15 minutes more than I would have had in my "old life." So be proud of your minutes, you worked hard and you deserve to feel good about it. :)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Grrrr! You would think you could do at least one load of laundry before the dryer totally quit when it had been repaired that day. On the plus side ... you got lots of exercise, and from the sounds of it, you'll be given that opportunity again soon. So goes life. Just remember, this too shall pass!

Geez... I finally lost 1 pound....
So don't give up...
Things will start to happen soon.

Day 6 ~~ Messed up day!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

First off...I stayed in my calorie range, but at bad. Had McDonald's pancakes and sausage for breakfast and then tried to recoup. Then when I got hold of the guy to fix my dryer, he informed me he couldn't come until tomorrow.

I rode my exercise bike for over 30 minutes. I made the short walk to the neighbors in between down pours. I checked on their house and picked up their mail. My other neighbor gave me some coats and jackets. She has lost weight and is getting ready to revamp her wardrobe. They all look brand new.

MaKayla came home and informed me the antibotic, "Did it again". I had to call the doctor and get medicine for a yeast infection. Can't treat one thing for creating another problem. UGGH!! I had to call hubby home from work because all of our neighbor's were gone and it was raining too hard to walk to the pharmacy at the end of our hollow. Funny I can see it from my mobile home on the hill, but it seems so far away.

The house is quiet now so it is time for to wind down and get ready for bed.

Okay now, you made it through today. Sometimes that's the best one can do. For future reference, I have found that if I eat two yogurts a day while I'm on antibiotics, the yeast infection stays away. Maybe that will help your daughter (if she eats yogurt).

Now for a better day!
