Road Trip!

We are leaving this morning for our road trip up to Seattle/Lake Chelan. I'm very excited, but getting out the door is always a challenge. I am kinda freaky about having the house in order before we leave. It will be about a 7 hour drive today. We will pick up our daughter tomorrow in Seattle and head to the lake, about 2 hours from there. The weather is supposed to be nice, so I'm thankful for that. I have lots of healthy (and some not-so-healthy) snacks packed. I'm hoping I can talk my boys into listening to an audiobook, but they usually resist and we just listen to music which allows for talking, so that's okay, too.

We haven't had a family vacation, just the 4 of us, in a long time. It's going to be nice to spend some relaxing time together :)

And I look forward to hearing about your trip. We (8 hiking friends) are renting a cabin in Stehekin in September, taking the boat across Lake Chelan, and doing day hikes in the North Cascades from there. I look forward to hearing about your trip! I have only driven past Lake Chelan previously. And of course Seattle should be lots of fun!

May Goals

My Goals for May:

1. Complete A Book Club Challenge
2. 900 fitness minutes for the month
3. At least 5,000 steps/day
4. Work on pictures 30 min/week

Starting weight: 160.0 (Thatís down 2.4 lbs from April 1)

I'm really going to push for the daily steps and increasing my exercise. I'm doing pretty good with the tracking since starting Weight Watchers 6 weeks ago, so I will continue making healthier choices and work on moving more.

April Goals Recap

How did I do with my April goals? Hereís the recap:

1. Complete Book Club Challenge~YES! I didnít do as well as I would have liked, but I stuck with it for the entire month.

2. Track Daily~NO. But I tracked 25/30 days which is an improvement over last month.

3. Exercise at least 3x a week~NO. On one week, I only worked out twice. I got more than 3 days in on some weeks, for a total of 16/30 days and 692 minutes. This is also an improvement over last month, but I would like to get to at least 900 minutes/month.

4. 5,000 steps daily~NO. Only 17/30 days. I forgot to wear my fitbit 2.5 days. Will still work on achieving this.

5. Work on pictures 30 min/week~NO. I only worked on them 2 times, but for an hour each time. Still making progress which is my main goal.

6. Yoga 1x a week~NO. Only did yoga 2 times this month.

7. Write or contact at least 1 out of town friend~NO. This is a complete fail! I set this as a goal to do this every month and I have yet to do it :(

So, looking at each of these goals, it appears that I didnít accomplish any of the goals I set for myself, but when I consider the improvement I made from last month, I feel that April was successful. I will have some of the same goals for May and keep striving for 100%.

April Goals

March was just an okay month. I sort of just went through the motions and slacked in the exercise department. I am determined to really push myself for a great month in April! Here are my goals:

1. Complete Book Club Challenge
2. Track Daily
3. Exercise at least 3x a week
4. 5,000 steps daily
5. Work on pictures 30 min/week
6. Yoga 1x a week
7. Write or contact at least 1 out of town friend

March Goals with Recap

I haven't been posting my monthly goals here, but have been keeping track of how I'm doing on a daily basis. I thought I would try to get back to putting them in a blog so I will have a record to look back on. So here's how I did in March:

March 1 Weigh-In: 165.4 lb
April 1 Weigh-In: 162.4 lb
So, down 3 lbs for the month!
I also lost a 3/4" from chest and 1/2" from waist.

My goals for the month were:

1. Complete Book Club Challenge~NO. I didn't keep track after the first 2-3 weeks
2. Track daily~NO. I tracked 21/31 days which is better than I've done in previous months.
3. Work on pictures 60 min~NO. Only did 30 min, but better than none :)
4. Quiet time daily~NO. I got 22/31 days.
5. Read 3 books~YES. I finished 4 books!

Fitness minutes for the month: 505 (not great)
5,000 steps: 6/31 days (so sad)

Well, I'm a little happy with my results as far as weight and measurements go. Obviously, the tracking helped keep my food choices in check. My exercise was pretty pathetic and I think I would have had even better results had I done more.

It wasn't the best month for meeting my overall goals, but I am determined to be stronger for April and see how much better I can do!
