Rainy Sunday

Well we're supposed to get rain here for the next five days. I'm taking my workout indoors today instead of bike riding. One of my friends has a hockey game at the mall so I'm going early to walk in the mall for an hour.

I've done really well today on eating and doing my situps etc. Did some healthy shopping and planning for meals this week.

I went through four Clean Eating magazines to get some new ideas and I'm trying two out for breakfasts this week. If they turn out good, I'll post about them this week.

I have been following the portion control learning part of the program and measuring my food. That's certainly eye opening!

I love SP! After about five weeks on here, I can't say enough about how much better I feel and how much I've learned.

I walked a lot in two different malls today. It was raining outside when i wanted to go bike riding. I am very sore for some reason.

My new find in the freezer section... Skinny Cow chocolate truffle bars 100 calories. I really like them and it gives me a fix for chocolate when I need one.

I'm trying to go to the next level in monitoring my food since I've been journaling my food for a month. I bought a new kitchen scale today so I can start to see if what I think a portion should be is really accurate. I also got a measuring cup that separates out the fat in anticipation of cooking for Thanksgiving.

My other new find this weekend... Hot Apple Cider Tea. It smells and taste like hot apple cider without the sugar and calories.

My creative way to have a buger tonight... turkey patty on whole wheat bun with fresh spinach and several tablespoons of salsa. It was pretty good.

Hope these ideas help someone else come up with something new.

  


Stargate Universe Premier!

I'm looking forward to watching Stargate Universe tonight! I had a good workout today - 30 mins elliptical and I tried a couple of new SP exercises for the back. I did the Boxer and the Leaning Smith Machine Pull ups. Those were both good and I'll do them again.

I was so totally on track today until one of my coworkers came back from an outside meeting and brought me my favorite cookie from Panera. I ate it! I added it to my food journal today and found out that it was worth 350 calories! Dang it!

I went over my calories today but whatever. I'm on the bike in the morning and that always helps me when I've got to pay the price for a little too much indulgence.

I feel like my body is trimming up and I'm doing well so I'm not going to let one freaking 350 calorie cookie sidetrack me! LOL

I'm planning for a great workout weekend! Hope you are too!

    I just watched stargate universe and it was good. I also use as elliptical for 40 minutes a day. Good luck

    I'm recording Stargate universe for my husband who's working, It does look good. It's amazing how many calories are in foods and they add up quickly! You handled it well,you just got back on track.Have a great weekend!

It's almost Friday! Yeah!

It's October 1st and I'm starting my second month on SP. I can't do my pushups tonight because my arm hurts. I have a problem shoulder that flairs up and tonight it's not happy.

I attended a Stress Management seminar at work today during lunch. It reaffirms what I'm learning on SP. Eat right, exercise, sleep enough, get support. Thank goodness for this website. It's full of good information, structure, and lots of supportive people.

Tracking my food has been the best thing for my health journey. I feel better after a month than I have in quite a while. I contribute that to healthy eating, taking my vitmains, exercising, and feeling physically stronger.

SP works...just keep it up.

  


Celebrating September Accomplishments

Well we come to the close of my first month on SP. I lost 6 lbs and dropped my cholesterol 14 points. I exercised more consistently, ate better, and learned alot. I love SP!

The loss of this weight brought me to a total loss of 45 lbs so my hair dresser gave me a new do to go with the new me. That was fun. I even scheduled an appointment with a personal shopper and went in and bought two new outfits in a much smaller size than where I started from.

I feel healthier, happier, and proud. Now comes month two. My next goal is to lose 11 pounds and get to another milestone in my weight loss. So how much of that can I do in a healthy way in October? Stick around and find out. Hold me accountable!
