Just got the first frost in Sacramento. So Now I have to decide to go swimming with the air really cold. I need a waterproof swim cap and a hold the warmth in vest but i just hate to spend the money on something I can do without. So I am walking, doing more gardening
( got over a hundred daffodils in the soil and if they are viable.... some were dead,) I waited too long to purchase but I could not resist half off.
I am also walking my neighborhood in the afternoons, walking the treadmill, and Mall walking.
cannot seem to get a picture in here today, oh well.

    The colder weather is hard for me too. I just want to stay home and stay warm. I will have to start playing the "Just Dance" game for my cardio when I get in those moods. Way to stay active even though the weather is cold .... brrrrrr.

    I remember when we lived in San Diego
I know you're up north
It was amazing weather and we used to drive to the mountains so kids could see snow then drive back and go swimming

Have been having a little trouble with the quality of my food.
I have the salad in the fridg but.... I eat the rye bread and burger instead.
My choices seem to be a little off.. But Iseem to be craving protein.
I am sore so I have cut back my exercise to 8000 steps a day because I would rauther be consistent than go up and down. When I am very sore I would rauther take a day to heal And have a lower base below which I do not allow myself to forgo.
My water aerobics is more of a challenge now that it is winter and my gym has an outside pool. But I am resolved to let myself keep going and judge stopping on if it feels " right " rauther than on the number of steps/. This was thanks giving 5 years ago.
The dress was a size 20 I weighed 218. I am only five feet tall! The cat still thinks I am his mother.

    I agree with THINFITRAWKIND. This is a life long journey, a new lifestyle. Sometimes we will do things we are not proud of or something that is different from the lifestyle we want for ourselves. But we don't give up. You see the bump for what it is .... just a bump. You have made so much progress to a healthier you. Great job and keep it up.

    You've come a LONG ways, congratulations,be proud of yourself, I sure am.

I love Kab7801's idea, individual salads are great, maybe try drinking your 8 glasses of water to quench that "need to feed", but most of all..stop before you grab something, and think about what you're doing.

Many times I have just grabbed and ate before thinking what I'm doing, and now that I stop and think about the consequences..I have set it back, more times than I've taken it.

    You have made tremendous progress. I am not concerned with you falling off the wagon and going to "the dark side" back to the way (weigh) you were.

This is a life time journey. You will have highs and lows as you know.

    I keep individual salads in fridge and make myself eat everyday

So I am working my spark people program and doing the water aerobics four times a week which if there are steps ... i include them in the steps I take but as you know the water exercise is not as intense as even just walking. ... So I am doing both... I am afraid to hurt myself so I am resisting anything that involves weights out of the water. Using the water for resistance is like using a weight. lifting my legs to my chest in the water has made all my pants too big and I cannot afford to get more right now so I am taking them in ... a little.

I do
Walked more than 10,000 steps with 59 minutes of it at the most active level.
Am going to lay around like a slug until tomorrow with my cats.

    What a great problem to have. When you get a chance check out the Goodwill or a thrift store. You can usually find pants in good condition for under $10. That is what I did and then I didn't feel guilty when I was in them for a short time. :) emoticon

No weight gain

Well number one: I took a water aerobics class yesterday morning. And have walked and taken classes all week to bank the burn for anything extra i might eat on Turkey Day.
two: I walked most days over 10,000 steps last couple weeks

three: I had an apple for breakfast, a vegetarian burrito for lunch.

four: Went out for dinner with son and his wife. Ate maybe more calories than
usual but had some leftovers but did not eat when I got home.

five: Have stayed the same weight as on my ticker all week.
Got wows from my son about how much thinner I look. ( have been building muscle and loosing fat according to the special scale I weigh in at my doctors that keeps track of such things.

Grateful God has given me the health to keep going .... I will have to do more inside work outs because it is darker in the evening and i am afraid I will be up at the park and something will happen that will cause me to have a setback. Lucky for me I belong to spark people and there are many varied work outs for cold and windy days and nights.

In order to get to my spark page I have to go to community, Push the drop down, go to spark pages, then go to blogs and then I finally get to where I can start my blog rant.
I WANT TO BRAG ABOUT MY 10,000 STEPS in spite of a not very bad fall. ( I seem to be OK but am really mad at mysel for not being more careful. just a skinned knee and a sore thumb.)
But I should start getting credit for my water aerobics because the resistance work out I get here is toning my body and strengthening my abdominal muscles.
But steps only counts for a small part of what we do during the class.
But it is showing up as moderate exercise.

    Kind of like being bombarded by locusts! I'm with you gal. I think many others would also rant if they had the courage. I've ranted before and didn't even make a dent in the mechanism of profit.

CONGRATULATIONS!! On perseverance, determination, 10,000K with a sore thumb and fall and of course water aerobics.

By the way next time you want to post a new blog from Start. Go down about 1/3rd page on the left slightly towards the center you'll see some selections of different things you can choose to do. One of those is post a new blog. Easy Peezy.
