THinking

Friday, August 16, 2013

I have been exercising and eating better and I take off pounds then I have one day when I go out for chinese or vietnameese and have a normal portion but end up putting on 5 pounds which takes me a week to take off. Of course the cookies instead of dinner didn't help either.
Then I am back on my plateau. I just feel like I am not keeping my goals in sight.
I will be due for another talk with someone at the gym but I also think I need to cut down on my calories because one bad meal should not put me back so far.
This is a picture of my dad, he is 91. He is older than the car!

I feel your pain. I be on track all week ... let go over the weekend and all the weight I lost over the week is back. Ugh ... When you figure it out (without being perfect) let me know.

Your Dad looks great! So does the car! The sodium really effects me when we eat out. I've just come to expect it.

stop the suffering

Wednesday, August 07, 2013

Every year millions of pounds of produce are grown tied to stakes, lashed to trellises or confined to small cages like this poor guy here. Although no official studies have been conducted it is estimated that vine crops like Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Gourds etc. account for most cases. Help end this suffering and plant your own "Free Range" veggies or purchase certified "Cage Free" produce from your local market;)

Found this on my daughter in law #1's facebook. Que Lastima!

The nest is better and better

Sunday, August 04, 2013

My son and his wife are getting their house ready for the family they are sure will come.
Here is the next installment.
This is the stairs that go to the lower level of his house which has a laundry room and a bedroom and a rest room.
He has started a new set of stairs
These are the next steps to get to the " in - Law " suite.
It is kind of exciting to see all the work he is doing.
I have to take some pictures of myself and figure out how to get the pictures from the Phone to my computer. Life is so challenging in this age of computers.

Yes, definitely need to lay hold of the technology!
It was a big step for me to get a basic cell phone,. I haven't braved one of the fancy-schmancy ones that does everything but brush your teeth!
It's fun to see progress isn't it? Shel

Spending time with a friend

Thursday, July 25, 2013

I spent the day cooking with a young friend who was willing to make macaroni and cheese and lemon bars and apple pie. Now it was 105 in my car and I really did not want to bake but sometimes you just do what you need to do.
I really enjoyed it and watching most of Tooth Fairy Two. ( not so much)
But she is going to school and will become a teen ager this year.
It was fun playing 12 with her ....
I wanted to be helpful to my friend and had a chance to be with people I really enjoyed.

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Yes I did my class, took a nap and then walked 60 minutes.. the weather was cooler which made me think that I could get an hour walk in this evening between 7 and 8 before the sun went down.
It was wonderful. Hope you had a pleasant day.
