Went to the Mall

So there is a famous organization who's founder was frustrated that no one would join him in his successful strategy for personal change. He complained to his wife and she said but Honey, you are successfully changing your behavior.

So no one else showed up at the Mall for the SparkSacramento Spark Peoples Official Team walking challenge. ..But I waved hello to all the other mall walkers and spoke to one sweet lady who was walking by herself. (Dorothy) AND I walked for my hour. AND even though my pedometer has not worked for the last two days.... (I can guesstimate because I have been doing it for so long I know I normally walk a twenty minute mile.)
I think it was successful because I was there walking and making my life better..
Now for next month on the second saturday of the month. That would be February 9th.
We will try walking at 9 and at 10 ( in consideration for the morning challenged)
Those who wish to may sign up for the Mall Walkers Club at Arden Fair's Desk which opens at 10 and that is where we will meet. It is in front of JC Penny.
I also belong to the mall walkers at Sunrise Mall which is closer to my house.
I will also encourage people to participate In either or both activities.

I also belong to a gym. I enjoy the water aerobics but it is sooo cold. I do not have a wet suit
So I will start doing the group strength training or other class when I can.
It wouldn't kill me to go walk on a treadmill either.... I cannot run.....

So anyway it is a successful day.
My son and his wife will be here to celebrate his 44th birthday with a carbohydrate free lunch.
Chicken and italian sausage in tomato sauce.
A large salad with plenty of broccoli and squash.

How do you make a carb free cake?

    I'm sorry you were the only one there! It was so cold this morning and it was so early, that I think if you change it to 9 or 10 like you stated, more people will show up. I'm surprised Collette wasn't there. I really thought Nesarian was going to be there too. Oh well, maybe next time:)

Went to a meeting this morning with hubby. Really enjoyed it but really wasn't awake at an 8 am meeting. Will be calling Nettie, Doris, and leaving a message for my brother and sister asking them to call me when they visit my dad, ( he is in a convalescent home) sometime over the weekend.

I walked over 10,000 both Wednesday and Thursday... not all at the same time.
Just several shorter walks over the day.
I want to go to get a fit bit and put it on this site. I just do not know if I want to know what is really happening..

Sue and I from Sacramento sparkies are going to Meet at Arden Fair mall at 8 am, sign up for the walking program, and see if more people will show up.
But... let's face it ... if we just get there once a month on the second Saturday of the month.. We'll be there January 12th
We will be doing something to take care of ourselves.
Maybe the other lady Colette will come also.

So I am wishing every one a wonderful start to your new year.
I did not gain any weight over the holidays.
I will, over the next month, move down the number of calories I eat.
I will, over the next month, walk twice a week and go to the gym 3 times.
I think if I do that it will make a difference. Love to you all and a wonderful New Year. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So officially for the four years I have been here at Spark People I have lost 35 pounds and Lost 27.5 inches.

starting statistics. now statistics then final goals
Bust-----47 inches 44 / 40
Waist----42 inches-----------36 / 32
Abs------48! inches 41 / 42
Hips-----48 inches-----------43 / 43
thighs---25.5 inches 22.5
arms ---13.5 inches 13
weight --208 pounds 183 final goal 128
i joined Spark people in September of 2008
I quit the "health club" have since joined another.

I had lost 12 pounds prior to starting at this gym and never lost anything while I was working out there. They wanted me on a protein powder diet that I cannot use. Blamed me for my lack of success. I am doing it slower than I want but I had gotten so saggy skinned it was kind of depressing. I should join a team with those who have lost quite a bit and are facing the hugh amount of skin left after the fat is gone. This is way more honest than I want to be but I believe it is accurate as of today.

    I've never lost more than 10 lbs., I know I don't eat the right foods, but even when I was really trying, I always stayed about the same, so maybe this year I will lose enough to worry about the loose skin thing:)

    Ooo no I would never go to a "health club" that insisted you use some "product" to lose weight instead of good old fashioned healthful food! That is ridiculous. Slow and steady wins the race my friend. :)

As for the skin I wish we could all start up a "excess skin removal" fund and get a little nip tuck because I am noticing some myself. Oh wait that might be just good old fashioned I am 40 and I have wrinkles. ;) j/k. No it is excess skin. Especially around my triceps. I am trying to work it off or at least tighten it up a little. emoticon

I cannot tell what pictures I have chosen. I goofed up my computer and I cannot add new pictures. So I am hoping I can learn how to do it in 2013.

I am still on plateau after loosing only a few pounds but I planned to maintain over Christmas.
I am going to spend 3 days at the gym, 2 walking and 2 taking a break PER WEEK.
I am going to lower my calorie range as of the first OF JANUARY.
I have gone over CALORIES a few days and other days I just forgot to post ...
that must not happen any more.
So With the New Year we hope we can become closer to who we want to be.

    Plateaus are normal. Spark has some great articles on how to break through them.
This is the first year where I managed to maintain during the holidays. The tracking definitely helps, as well as grabbing bits of fitness here and there.
We don't have to wait for a new year to have a new beginning - each day is a new day to start fresh with a clean slate. Like salvation!

Ok I love Christmas

I still am having trouble getting to put pictures here but I will keep trying.
We forgot to take pictures last night. So you missed my beautiful daughters-in-law with there festive attire. And my handsome sons sharing tri tip steak, quinoa salad, veggies and tofu sour cream dip (85 calories for 2 Tablespoons) Baked potato, and home grown pumpkin pies.
I just don't know how he gets them to grow the crust.
Then hubby and I went to Christmas 11:30 Mass. It was perfect.
Today we are visiting with friends at an open house. Lots of love and sharing.
