Slow and steady

Just putting one foot in front of the other is all I can do some days.
I cannot wait for my local gym to reopen the pool. I get to at least two water aerobics classes per week and walk at least two days a week out doors or at the mall.
I have a friend who likes to do treadmill but I just have not been able to do cycle class because it hurts my bum.. They say that is normal and I should purchase a pair of padded shorts. Can't afford them this week had to have a valve replaced in my car.

Looking forward to the wood peckers visible in my tree when all the leaves fall off.

    I used to love to swim but after licking an envelope and having a severe allergic reaction I developed psoriasis and have been having light therapy, I've been told I shouldn't swim as the chlorine in the water is bad for my skin now!
I miss it emoticon
But I do enjoy walking so I've upped that a bit more now!

    I hope you find something else that you can do to help keep you fit until your pool opens again. But you are right, slow and steady truly does win the race. I've never heard of padded shorts before. I'm going to look into them, because sometimes my bum gets pretty sore after I've been on the bike for awhile, lol!

    I need the padded shorts also! The instructor says it takes a few weeks to get used to the pain. HUH? Plenty of other things to do than spinning!

    i took a spinning class and did not love it. i'd rather ride bike outside so i do other exercise videos when i am at home.

    Slow and steady is a great way to do it, fast and furious tends to burn out and leave you stranded. Good luck with the pool opening, I know that will feel great. I do love to swim/do water aerobics so much, and it's so good for us. I really wish we lived closer and could get some fit mins done together!! Hope your weekend is great. Have a lovely day! ( I would love to see woodpeckers in my back yard!)

Lower calorie versions of Holiday foods.

I was reading someone else's Blog and was waxing so poetical about food , I figured I should publish it here too.. With the Holidays coming on, I need to make lower calorie and healthier versions of my recipes. To quote myself...
"I have found that bringing lower calorie versions of my favorite things, does not upset the family and I can eat the safer versions. Like I make mashed sweet potato with just broth and NO BUTTER. ( I know I love it but 100 calories a Tablespoon.!!!!! ) Just check out a Chef Meg version of pumpkin pie etc. THey will like the taste so much.... they will want you to bring it all the time. BUT I have not had much luck cooking with Stevia... it seems to make it look wrong.
Anyone have any luck with it.??? "

I have a pair of lee's jeans from the eighties. I not only can get it on but it is that old skinny jean look... I think it is a 16 because the other pants with them were 16's.
I didn't know I had them till I cleaned out the closet this summer so my granddaughter could have some room in the closet.

I cannot see my pictures before I add them so I am doing this random.. I won't know what I have until I see it .... so wish me luck.. This is my favorite nephew . He is an engineering major.
He is really smart and charming. great choice.

    Yay for skinny jeans!!!! I will be so happy when I can slip my 16's on. I think I have one or two pair of 16's. This is the size I've been most of my adult life, so even though it is not where I want to stop, it is definitely the size I am the most familiar with. Great job, you are keeping the spark alive!!!

I tend to do better on weekends than week days because I have to remember what day it is and where I have to be... I have tons of appointment. I have Monday morning empty but I do something at 8 am every other day of the week. So I drink coffee so I will stay up then I cannot sleep...
So I have been cutting myself off from coffee after 11 am, made my bedroom extra dark.
Trouble is I wake up at 6 when the people next door start warming up their cars... Why do people still warm up there cars. It isn't necessary or economical "now-a-days". And their cars are just outside my window... So the next expense will be a noise diminishing window treatment.
I need my regular sleep. So time to do something about the window in the master bedroom.
I wonder what I could get at Ikea that would work or if I should just invest in shutters?
Need to diminish the noise and I have a 110 inch across window! And I cannot get to it because the bed is right in front of it. I know bad fung shui but who wants a diagonal bed?
It wouldn't fit in my room any other way...
Oh well enough complaining
Did you know that praying mantis and robber flies can prey and eat humming birds?
emoticon I have a mantis who has been hanging around my feeder who I moved to the front yard. He ( or she) may eat ants and aphids but keep away from my humming birds!
I found a picture but absolutely will not put it here... too gruesome.
Well i better go spin the spark wheel and put in my food... My exercise will be my 30 minute mile.

    I get up between 6:30 and 7:30 everyday.A habit I can't break(retired) as I use to get up at 04:30 everyday for work.So 6:30-7:30 is sleeping in.Today I'm really tired.I'm drinking a monster energy drink for "vib' .I have to spend all day off the hill.No naps today! emoticon

Three weeks and holding.

Joined the gym three weeks ago and have gotten and lost one training partner, but kept going in to take the classes, got good advise about the spin classes, ( get good padded bike shorts)
Love water aerobics but will end up happy if I do my three walks with friends I have been doing for years but also do three work outs or classes... Don't want to look to far in advance.
Hubby joined too but he has been difficult. I am just going to go with positive people who enjoy exercising with me... Hubby is a crab emoticon He sucks the joy out of going and exercise. Sure it is supposed to be challenging but who needs a grump along.
