So I spent this month thinking I could eat at the top of my calorie range and still loose weight because I was exercising. I have quite a few minutes. And I never exercised much before Spark.
So tomorrow I get another chance to go for the Gold instead of the tin prize.
Yes I feel better. Yes I am changing how and what I eat. Eating less and exercising is the only way to get healthy. Hubby just told me he is going to count calories starting tomorrow.
So If we are both counting, there will be less distracting "stuff" in the house to temp us.

Here is my 200 pound after picture which has become my new before....170 here I come.

I live in the Sacramento valley and we have drought all summer ( every summer ) but sometimes we have winter drought also. It means we will not have enough water to sustain the population with the rain that will come down by the time the summer cycle comes.
So this winter has been very mild. I have only taken out my heavier coat once or twice.
It has hardly ever gotten to 32 degrees all the extended fall we call winter.
I love it so much. It is so splendid. I can walk, even in the rain. I layer so as it gets warmer i peel off the coat or the sweater. I have a hat and gloves with me. Then as the sun goes down I get to put it all back on. The weather is, the way it is. I want to let you know how grateful I am to be able to live here.
Thank you for listening. I am of the opinion what the universe gives me should be treasured and enjoyed. I am living happy with what I have. Please live happy with what you have.
Find the good things in your life and treasure them and be grateful for them.

It said I had earned all points but ..

Does it get frustrating when you read an article and push for Spark points. Then have the notice say you have earned all the spark points allowed. Then you check your Spark page and you have not gotten all your points. I admit I try to get as many as possible every day.
And maybe it is kind of unnecessary but I like sharing goodies with new friends or ways to say thank you.... But what really drives me nuts is when I have read all the articles i can find!
Any way thank you for listening. I will have to exercise more to get points. That is good too.

    HI HON. Yes, I've noticed that.But sometimes, I read up to 12 or so a day, and it works, so I'm thinking some days they allow it, and some days, they don't. I still think that this site has alot of glitches sometimes.

    No, not once you figure out that you can only read THREE each day that count toward points. If you look under your SparkPoints page, it will tell you how much of what you can get points for each day. As for articles you can get a maximum of 9 points per day, which is 3 articles.

Pictures of Hungry children on Spark

I am sitting looking out my window at the falling rain. I have had breakfast but I really want to eat again. It is not time to eat yet... It is so hard for me to be OK with feeling a little hungry without satisfying that need. I have been using 100 calorie oatmeal and other 100 calorie snacks with a glass of water to stave off the Hunger. But there has been pictures of starving children advertised on various pages of Spark. It is surprising how that puts me off being hungry. What do you think. emoticon

    I don't understand how the ads work other than they keep the site free. I konw if I see hungry children's networks commercials, I feel bad. But we shouldn't feel bad. The time we should feel a twinge of guilt is when we eat 3 or 4 sandwiches all at once or when we eat an entire bag of cookies etc. We were put in different places and you and I are fortunate enough to live in places where food is easily accessible. Maybe just take it as a sign of what can happen if you go overboard the other way and DON'T eat. Try and find the balance between the WANT and the NEED to eat.

As far as pictures of hungry children on spark. When I see starving children it just makes me want to clean my plate. I grew up in a house where we didn't have enough food for us most of the time. So when we ate nothing was thrown away. We had to clean our plates. When there was food in the house we ate it fast. Any-way lots of issues I am sure we don't want to get into right now. :)

On a different note. The rain is such a downer. When I am feeling sad/depressed/anxious I feel hunger pangs too. You are doing a great job and you can get through these rough moments. Do you have a list of things to do that you cannot do while eating? Pull that list out and do one of them. I like to brush my teeth or drink a large glass of water. (but I know how you feel about water) :) Maybe chew some gum?

    Pictures of hungry children make me want to eat.If I look at hungry people I feel hungry.Sorry, for me its the opposite.Pictures of fat people make me want to stop eating.Pictures of size 14 models make me happy.

Albert Einstein said that a solution to a problem cannot be found with the same methods that caused the problem in the first place.
So I am working on new solutions. Like eating when I am hungry wether It is time to eat or not. Like exercising more than once a day as suggested by Spark people.
Like going the extra mile to have vegetables and fruit in the house and available for snacking.
Throw out things that I should not have around. ( Unless hubby has it under the train table in the garage in the little cabinet where he keeps his snacks. )
Like get a life.... do the things I really want to do. Take that art class. Fill out that application. We can think about food all the time or we can think about living life to the fullest. So get with it!

    Learning to follow your hunger and fullness cues is a great way to learn to listen to your body. Some things that might help with stopping before you get full,

Eat half of your food (or put half what you might normally put) and stop there. Wait a little while and see if you feel hungry or satisfied. The goal is to feel satisfied.
Take a drink of water after every bite and put your fork down between bites. This will slow you down. (I have a really hard time with this one.)

Let us know how you are doing.

I have always wanted to start a photo portfolio. I think I will make that a goal for myself.
