missed 12 .. day 13

Tuesday, July 05, 2011

Hubby is staying home today
He is doing better and has sent questions by email to his Doctor.

I will be shopping for the Gathering Inn.
Local churches take in and feed homeless men, women and sometimes children.
I look forward to it all year. It makes me feel helpful.
will get back with you tomorrow evening.

Day 11 Missed 10

Monday, July 04, 2011

He is sleeping a lot and just sitting around. I went to church and my meeting.
Thank God I did not have any activities. I just took care of myself and talked to my friends Ellen and Ruth... Hope you all have a wonderful fourth of July.

Let's see, do we call it BORING ??
I love LOCO POLLO chicken.
Outside activity in the morning and a nice nap in the afternoon.
Nothing wrong being 'lazy' when it is 100 degree in the shade
Grab a book or magazine and curl up where it is cool.

Have a great day.
Super weekend.

I do too! At least before my granddaughter came to visit, my life is really boring! It has helped having her here, but now it is so hot, there isn't much we can do, so it's back to sitting and watching tv all day or sitting whilw on the computer! I sleep way too much and I know it's from having nothing to do 4 days a week. I work the other 3 but when I get home there is still nothing to do. I guess that happens when you get to be my age???

day 8

I was having pain in my hand . I went to the doctor and he said it was the lump on the side of my hand that was causing it and I needed to get it removed. But the surgeon said he doubted his exact words were he was skeptical that the pain and numbness was caused by the lump and he wanted a MRI, Now that means I put my whole body into a machine ( at out of pocket expense ) just to scan my hand. And you wonder why health care is so expensive.
But Hubby is still recovering from surgery on his eye and I am his care taker and chauffeur.
I would have a cast on for a month... This to remove something that is not causing my pain.

this is a picture of my mother. Her right arm was removed in 1953 because they said she had melanoma and would die slowly of cancer. She is now 87 and has lived all that time with one arm.

I think you have to put your whole body in the MRI machine, but I don't think they will go beyond the hand or arm for the MRI. I hat MRI's. They are so noisy!

YOU ARE KIDDING ME ------ A WHOLE BODY M.R.I. FOR YOUR HAND?? Pretty amazing how thorough (NOT) medicine is............. I'll bet they could use the digital mammograph machine and do the same thing...........................

day 7

So it is like this.
He is still able to see with his left eye.
His work is not physical so he can do it and keep records.
He gets tired often and sleeps more than he is awake.
I keep him fed and medicated.
I want to keep his spirits up.
His work is his lifeline to recovery.
He will try harder.
He will do what he is able.
All I can do is praise him when he keeps his chin on his chest.
Two more weeks.
