good news and bad

Thursday, June 16, 2011

We have a brilliant young man . Of whom I am proud.

Hubby's cataract surgery did not go as well as planned.
He needs to see an ocular surgeon for another surgery on the same eye to remove a floater.
So please pray for God's guidance and healing.

I got to watch my nephew graduate from High School.
He was a salutarian and gave a beautiful speech...
His parents should be proud.

Summer is coming

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Normally we are into 80 to 90 degree weather by June. It has been rainy and I have the most lush garden ever.. I may start growing my garden earlier .. The longer cooler weather allows the roots to develop. I have onions that are just splendid.. And the squash.. wow. Walking is nice because of the cool weather. I am able to fit a half hour in most days.
Hope you have a wonderful second week of June.. Maria

Your garden sounds sublime! I am doing well with flower gardens and just got my hanging baskets outside, but am struggling with the vegetable garden this year-the weather is great for some plantings, but not others. Have a terrific week!

The weather has been beautiful today! I love the rain and the cloud cover, but this year has been getting to me! It's hard to get outside and walk when it is so cold and rainy. Next week is supposed to be HOT! I don't think I'll like that much:)

We don't even have flowers in yet in my neck-of-the-woods!
I just cut my tulips and daffodil dead leaves the other day.

I'm glad you have a good garden already.

Our weather has been very atypical - very wet and cloudy - we usually get lovely sunny and warm weather at this time of year. It is very dreary and depressing!

I sure hope we get to see some spring here soon, let alone summer.

10,000 day two

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

This is an old picture because I have not taken the time to figure out how to put pictures from my camera phone to the computer.
I have not met my goal of straightening my bulletin board
I have not been walking 10,000 steps a day which would help me feel better.
I eat pretty well in the day time but hubby is putting his weight back on and I am joining him in the snacks he brings into the TV room.
I have my computer in there now ...
I have to depend on myself today.

I keep miss placing my pedometer! I'm going to track it down this week so I can join you and see how many steps I actually take in a day.

I'm a big snacker in front of the tv too.... For me, I always do better if I have vegies and healthier snacks prepared. Right now I have a tupperware bowl filled w/cut up cantelope & low fat string cheese & apples in the tv room fridge.

10,000 steps is a lot of steps! I try to walk 5,000 steps and that is hard to do most days. Hope you get the snack thing under control:) emoticon

Tell him to stop bring the snacks into the house and that you will toss them out if he brings them into the house. Then follow through and toss the stuff. He will eventually get the message.

There are few people that we can depend on in this life.

but most of all we have to depend on ourselves to stir the motivation that gets us to the goal we want so much.
