Ok so It has not been perfect.
OK so it is better. I have had good days and bad.
So I got some good news. My son and his wife have gotten their second foster child.
We get to love him until the powers that be decide where he is going to go.
I will always love and pray for the little baby girl they got just before last Christmas.
I pray her biological father, who has regained custody, will take care of the precious jewel that she is.

    Thanks to families like you who welcome these children. I couldn't give myself to someone whose parents might take them away from me, but obviously your family is stronger and more selfless.

    It takes very special people to be foster parents. Taking care of a child, and loving that child, only to have to let them go again. I have know a few foster parents that have been emotionally torn up when they had to let the child go - either to be adopted, or to parents that had gotten their lives back together.

Bless them for the work they do.

I ate more than I exercised

Well I ate more than I exercised and had my first five pound up and down.
I normally am able to keep on my plan with planed cheats. I also had a major cold and was not feeling well enough to do anything but move from nap to nap and still sleep all night . But the last couple days have my nights and days mixed up. So I am back to being strict about my choices and plan what I am eating. I find a vegetable omelet satisfies me best. That just means I need to eat some kind of protein in the morning. So I will have breakfast bean only burritos with vegetables and other protein based food with vegetables for breakfast.
Lunch has to be soup and salad only and dinner is one of Chef Meg's versions of my favorite foods.
It takes a little more planning but... It will be worth it.
I also will be able to force myself to go to bed earlier. Therefore get up earlier and walk an hour at the mall and an hour with my friend Esther most days.
Not an overly ambitious plan. Very conservative. But it will work for me .
I am going for feeling what my body is trying to tell me.
I am going to use the planner to describe how my body feels every day.

I made it from my hotel up the hill to Grace Cathedral in about 20 minutes.
I cannot find the photo but I will and I will publish.
I walked six miles on thanksgiving but nothing today.
I was in the car driving and the traffic was bad.

    Can't wait to see the photo of Grace Cathedral and am so happy for you in being able to walk up the hill in 20 minutes!

I didn't walk on Thanksgiving (busy being hostess). BUT did go walking Friday along American River for about 1.5 hours.

Walking is the way

So here I am on the road. I walked with Mary today and am looking forward to walking with whom ever shows up tomorrow 8 am at the security entrance of Sunrise Mall (inside) or at 11: am at the outside tire parking lot beside Costco by the Walmart on Auburn in Citrus Heights, Ca. I will be walking either time. and both. .

I am so excited. Friday morning we are going to walk from our hotel to Nob Hill which is half a mile from our hotel in San Francisco. I will walk up to Grace Cathedral. It is one steep hill and it just about killed me the day my son graduated from College. One of my goals when starting Spark was to climb that hill without having a heart attack. I am looking for a picture of me that day I was heavier than my starting weight. I know it will be hard but I will bring my walking shoes and take that challenge. I intend to get pictures.

You can do it. You are in so much better shape than when you started. YOU CAN DO IT.

Looking back on the summer and my determination to succeed, is hard to remember.
I am just eating way to much of the incorrect stuff.
I resolve to increase my vegetables by three and try to get to 10,000 every day.
It really is not that hard. emoticon emoticon

    I've been putting spinach in my fruit smoothies.
I roasted sweet potatoes, zucchini, and red bell peppers the other night.
I make a salad everyday with mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, bell peppers, and sometimes mushrooms, radishes, and other veggies.

Just try to include veggies anyway you can everyday.

It's easy to slip back but we have to get back on track. We have birthdays in Oct. and I took that as a license to eat cake. Too much cake. I am back on track now!

We can do this!
