Well I really have a hard time walking alone. I want to have other people to walk with and I get the walking done. I went to the mall yesterday and every time I kept up with someone I chatted with them but then they would be done and have to leave. I then went over to my friend Esther's house and we walked another mile. So I did 6.62 miles yesterday. And I took it off after that because I was so tired. I am going shopping with a friend today for the bra I need to wear for the wedding I am attending next week. But I just feel kind of sore.. I am going to walk today but maybe without the intensity that I did yesterday.
these are the women of Spark who met with me the last Tuesday of the month.

Hey, walking is my main exercise. Although I am limited just now, I walk up to three miles on my own, and would love a walking partner! We can go around McKinley park and the neighborhood, or around Land Park or?

Hope to see you next week. Diana

RIA - You rascal, you shoulda called me,(that's why you have my #) I would have been able to walk. I did 3 on my own, just around and around the house and up the block and doing all the stuff. It is always fun to walk with you and I will be back in the groove VERY SOON.

And take it easy today.................

Nice to have fellow Sparkers around! Any closer to become a walking buddy? I am not a walker but if I were I'd probably walk much further if I walked with someone. Good luck with your journey! emoticon

So I took this picture because it it better than the picture in Arcada that I took in 2006 when we went to the Grand Canyon and had Smokey the Bear officaiate at our neice's wedding.
But I noticed the cloths are not very stylish.
I thought I was looking thinner than in the past but ....
So I decided to go to Macys and Kohls and have a look at their sale racks.
I found some really great stuff and You will be seeing me in them in future.
I also got lucky at a garage sale and found some name slacks( with tags still on) that fit for a dollar each. I have moved from a two X in 2006 to a size 16 regular woman's. I just shortened a pair of vera wang black jeans and I will get hubby to take a photo. They were marked down to $5.00
So I am going to attend another niece's wedding. I found an Ellen Tracy beaded dress for 15 dollars. They are not woman's size. They are a regular size. I am not getting there fast as you can see. But I am changing my life for the better. It feels really good to make this kind of change.
Like Chris Downey says one little change at a time. One little success at a time. Over time I can see the difference. It really feels good.

Visiting with a friend

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

so I am going to go over to my friends house. I have been wanting to get to know her better and I just felt like we were ships that passed in the night.
So that being said, I am going to go with no expectations but I would really like to get to know this lady better.
Well this is bothersome she is not home. She was at her doctors and she called and said she was going to be there at the appointed time.

Well I went over and we talked.
I borrowed a top to wear for the wedding I am attending.
She told me the story of how she met her hubby.
Really romantic.
Nice afternoon.

I have been using my pedometer since I bought it. I wear it every day. If I exercise, I wear it. If I do not I wear it. I have a consistent record of my walking every day.I also post cardio so I have a record of actually minutes of real exercise.I am going to go out and purchase another pedometer.
I need to organize my life better. I will do that this week. Yeah like that is going to happen but one little change at a time. It really works.
I am also going to post on my daily blog more than I have in the past.
And I am going to eliminate that irritating video blog.

Loving the pictures of your garden. Mine seems SO DRY already. Makes me furious. All that water I am using and not much green. I guess I should hook up my drip system. do ya think?

I love my pedometer! A couple of times I've forgotten to put it on, left the house, and been miserable because I'd lost the count for that day. For those of you who say you forget it, I put out at least one piece of clothing I have to put on in the morning (usually my bra!) and then put my pedometer on top of that. That little routine has helped meget in the habit of wearing it every day.

I can't find an accurate pedometer. What kind do you have?

I just bought a HRM and love that...does the pedometer tell you calories used or anything like that? What is the benefit of a pedometer vs. HRM...do you know??

Have a great week...good luck with everything you want to accomplish!

As always,
Stay Strong!!

Inspiredapple, I could not put this on your Spark page unless you want to put me on as a friend.
Anyway I have an Omron Walking Style with a leash. I got the kind that counts my steps but when I really get going it counts the steps that I do at an aerobic pace. So yesterday I did 8900 steps but I only did 4900 at an aerobic pace. For me that is about three miles. I do a long slow warm up and I count any lawn or gardening work as well as work steps toward my total. Sometimes I even get aerobic steps at work.
I found I hooked it on my hair clip and it was safely there when I went to put up my hair.
I have done some of my walking but I am going to do some more as soon as my phone gets charged. I like to listen to NPR while I walk.

Sometimes things just do not come together 3

Thursday, June 17, 2010

I have been trying to get to know a lady that I have known as an acquaintance for a long time and would love to get to know better.
But Our schedules have been difficult to coordinate.
Today she has a tampon up her nose to stem the blood from a nose bleed.
I just do not feel comfortable bothering her when she is not feeling well.
I have a feel it is not in God's plan for us to be friends.
I really like her but in the 20 years we have known each other it has not worked out.
So I will try again next week but if it does not work out, she will just be an acquaintance.

Could it be God's plan? Have you thought that the devil doesn't want you to be friends with her? Perhaps he is preventing the friendship because together you would be a powerful force against him!

In God's perfect timing, all things happen with His blessing! Sometimes our patience is tried because we don't really let God have the lead. When you are strong enough to handle this friendship, it will happen.

Perhaps you could drop her a note to let her know you are praying for her. I don't think that would be a bother to her... she will know that you are aware she has been having a problem...and it must have been obvious by your description. "Today she has a tampon up her nose to stem the blood from a nose bleed" Pray for her... and so will I.
