Glad you are getting your emails again.

Don't think I could quite stomach any of that cake. I have an almost 11 month old kitten and a 5 month old mini doxie who thinks her treats can be found in his litter box. EEEWWWW!!!!

I am so glad the mail is up and running again. And you were not the only one! As I read through the posts, several people did not receive emails for 2 days. I think Sparks was having some technical difficulties. It does happen from time to time! And I will pass on the cake, it looks so yummy. I do not think I could eat a small slice and stay within my calorie limit. As long as I do not take that first bite I am fine! So for now, I simply skip the sweet stuff that I can not eat in moderation. One of my goals is to get this moderation thing down! Right now, I as very much a work in progress! I hope all is going well for you, Hugs, Debbie

I am getting encouragement from Spark People to help me get down under 200 pounds. I am borderline diabetic and I do not want to go over the border. I want to change my life. I have only 10 more pounds to go for my first goal. I enjoyed the vision board project but I am going to redo it because I did not realize I could do it in the 8 1/2 by 11 format at the time I did it... I am getting emails and support. I am finding people like myself really knowing the only thing I can really change is myself.

There is a trouble shooting section here at Sparks that has several great suggestions to try. It really helped when I added the Sparks People address to my email address book. Every now and then I still do not receive Sparks email or message board responses. How I love to log on and read through the mail! And the feedback and encouragement does help. It feels like you have a small army of sweet people cheering you on. And we are cheering you on! Also it helps to run your computer through your virus scan every day after you finish up online. I also run scan disk once a week also, keeps things tidy. Or Sparks may be having a tech problem ? I do hope tomorrow will be better for you! Hugs, Debbie

I have not seen any of your previous posts but I think it's great that you only have 10 more pounds to reach your first goal. I have noticed that I can get pretty impatient when trying to reach a goal. I guess it's the need for immediate gratification. For me, I think that impatience can cause me to feel discouraged on days when everything is not perfect. Just the other day I was feeling exactly like that. Do you know what I did that helped? I read the spark pages of my team members ... and what an education that was. Just by reading what other people are going through or have accomplished was enough to get me moving again and cheer me up. I don't know if that will help but you might want to give it a try.

I honestly believe that you'll make it below 200 if you stick with Spark People. Keep logging in the food you eat everyday and stick with some sort of exercise plan. And when and if you feel discouraged again, send out an SOS like you did today. You won't cross that border!!! Beverly emoticon

I cannot sleep

I cannot seem to get the photograph I like to set up properly.
I will have to go to a copy shop, print it, scan it and get it to sit properly on the computer.
My Dad was going to give me a car and then there was something wrong with it and I had to get it repaired. He is 87 and now thinks I just took it from him. I know older people forget recent things. He has been diagnosed with dementia and is on medication. It makes me so sad that he does not remember what the agreement was originally. Some days he does. Other days he screams at me. It just makes me so sad. emoticon

Hi. I know how you feel in a way. My dad wanted me to have his car and truck. My brothers made sure that I did not get them. They have been so mean to me the only sister they have. They have tried to take my timber or any way they could get my share of money from my father. He gave me the land before he lost his thinking and then my brothers did not like it. You see...It is bad either way.
Just be patient with him. Love him and ignore the bad. He does not mean to bad to you.
Hope you do well. Take Care and God Bless.....lena

Grr, I sent a little comment and when I went to post it, it disappeared... so, if I comment twice with about the same message, ignore one of them. emoticon
Sorry to hear about your dad. Just keep in mind, that he is aware he is losing touch with what is happening, so it is going to make him angry. It is going to upset him that he is not in control anymore... And, when you are upset, unfortunately, you take it out on the ones you love.

My great-grandpa went through that, and when he was out of it, he thought he was young again, and would talk about how he was out sneaking around on my great-grandma because, "She's a meeeeeeeeeeean ol' woman!" emoticon It was sad, and sort of funny at the same time, because my great-grandma sat at the side of his bed, and laughed about him talking about "meetin' up" with his girlfriend... I'm not sure I could be okay with it, but hey..,. haha.
Anyway, as for your picture, can you open it up in PAINT... If u can, then go ahead and click the tab that says IMAGE, then FLIP/ROTATE... you can rotate it until it gets to the position you want...
Hope that helps!

I am so sorry about your sweet dad. Just love him the way he is and remember that he is not the same man who raised you. When the brain is altered, so is the personality. Be so kind and patient with him. My father-in-law also had dementia. On his good days he was confused, and on his bad days he was combative. We just took one day at a time, and tried not to take his behavior personally. Do not take your dad's bad days personally too. Please take care, Hugs, Debbie

Take a deep breath................ let it out slooowwww ......

How sad about your dad. My husband went through that with his dad. It doesn't seem fair for a person to forget their life and love ones.

Keep your chin up.... Try to remember and think of the good times you had with your dad.

Good luck with your picture !!
