So today was Kenpo. When I asked my husband what that was and how long an hour duh, every single video is an hour long!) he said its like kick boxing. Oh great I thought! I love cardio kickboxing!! Awesome, I can totally do this...
Well his sorry butt wouldnt get out of bed AGAIN today. Going to have a heart to heart with him if that continues. Hes cutting my workouts short because I have to get ready to go to work most days. So we finally get started (after cooking the kids breakfast and moving the table and blah blah blah). The warm up was annoying. I am a believer that we dont stretch before a workout but after. Tony thinks the most stretching should be done before the workout and very very little at the end. I'd rather do more of the running in place jumping jacks stuff to get warmed up; but what do I know!
So the video starts... its a lot of punching sure but my arms didnt really feel like they got anything out of it. The squats for all the blocking moves are HORRIBLE! UHG. I really struggled through that. I would catch myself coming out of the squat due to pain and then go back down as best I could. My husband said "you gotta watch yourself, you're coming out of it" uhm, I know but thanks! I think he thinks that I'm in better shape than I actually am. I USED to run, I USED to workout, I USED to eat healthy... then I let all that go to focus on school and so my athletisism (spelling?) went with it. Plus his is his second time doing it!
During your water breaks you get to do running in place, jumping jacks, flying X things, and fake jumping rope. I could actually do ALL of the jumping jacks during the first like 3 breaks! I was so excited. I was 2-3 shy on the last 2 breaks (I think... it all runs together lol).
Also today, I need a nap so desperately!! I got about 8 1/2 hours of sleep last night and am just wiped out from this workout. It was alot. I still have yoga to do, which should wake me up :)
Day 6 down! Can't believe tomorrows day 7 (only 12 more weeks to go ) and hallelujah a rest day! I'll still be doing yoga though cause I LOVE IT!!
