2012 weightloss

I've lost 10 pounds! In a whole year I lost 10.4 pounds. I was not strict on diet or exercise or I'm sure it would have been more! Seriously my diet has sucked!

Many people gained weight in 2012 so the fact I lost I'm happy. I have also recommitted to making healthier choices today. Here's to another year and hopefully another loss!

Update update update

First and formost, P90X emoticon I do not have the motivation to devote an hour a day to something right now. I was doing good too.... eh. Oh well. I have SP 10 min videos! Did you know that you can actually do more than 1 of those a day?!?! Crazy right! emoticon Plus I really didnt like not having cardio in that program. I joined a gym and quit p90x like 2 days later lol. I go get my cardio on at the gym and do some toning stuff with coach nicole

Also I updated my sparkpage! Woo hoo! Go check it out, hear how awesome things are!!

    I LOVE the Sparkpeople videos!! They are so nice even to just squeeze one in before I go to work in the mornings. It gets my day started off on the right foot. And sometimes you do one and you just can't seem to stop so you do another one! :-)

Week 2 day 1 chest and back again

I was all geared up and ready to go this morning! Got breakfast on for the kids while my husband got ready. I was feeling pretty good and definitely feeling stronger than the first time I had to do this video. Then came the over the fence under the fence move towards the end and something happened :( my lower right abdomen muscle torn or something!

It was painful but mostly only when I moved. At first I thought that maybe I just given myself a hernia, but after some googling I learned that it's definitely not a hernia which is good! I just graduated with a very physically demanding degree and hope to be working soon. Obviously hernia surgery would put a damper on picking up other human beings.

So we finish up the rest of chest and back it went on about our day. Movement, especially laughing, hurt pretty bad. I sneezed ones and I was about as painful as when it first happened. All three of my children were born via C-section so be it a week in muscle tear or scar tissue tear I don't now I just wanted to go away ASAP!! I tried to do the ab ripper after my minor injury, that was a joke! 😢 I still managed to complete one whole series of yoga so that made me feel better about everything!

I'm tired and still hurting so I'm throwing in the towel and going to bed. One thing to those considering doing p90x- make sure you have the ability to sleep about 10 hours a night lol

So today was Kenpo. When I asked my husband what that was and how long an hour duh, every single video is an hour long!) he said its like kick boxing. Oh great I thought! I love cardio kickboxing!! Awesome, I can totally do this...

Well his sorry butt wouldnt get out of bed AGAIN today. Going to have a heart to heart with him if that continues. Hes cutting my workouts short because I have to get ready to go to work most days. So we finally get started (after cooking the kids breakfast and moving the table and blah blah blah). The warm up was annoying. I am a believer that we dont stretch before a workout but after. Tony thinks the most stretching should be done before the workout and very very little at the end. I'd rather do more of the running in place jumping jacks stuff to get warmed up; but what do I know!

So the video starts... its a lot of punching sure but my arms didnt really feel like they got anything out of it. The squats for all the blocking moves are HORRIBLE! UHG. I really struggled through that. I would catch myself coming out of the squat due to pain and then go back down as best I could. My husband said "you gotta watch yourself, you're coming out of it" uhm, I know but thanks! I think he thinks that I'm in better shape than I actually am. I USED to run, I USED to workout, I USED to eat healthy... then I let all that go to focus on school and so my athletisism (spelling?) went with it. Plus his is his second time doing it!
During your water breaks you get to do running in place, jumping jacks, flying X things, and fake jumping rope. I could actually do ALL of the jumping jacks during the first like 3 breaks! I was so excited. I was 2-3 shy on the last 2 breaks (I think... it all runs together lol).

Also today, I need a nap so desperately!! I got about 8 1/2 hours of sleep last night and am just wiped out from this workout. It was alot. I still have yoga to do, which should wake me up :)

Day 6 down! Can't believe tomorrows day 7 (only 12 more weeks to go emoticon) and hallelujah a rest day! I'll still be doing yoga though cause I LOVE IT!! emoticon

Day 5 p90x rough start

Well I got up at 6:07 am and got the computer turned on. It was a little bit of a hassle to get DH out of bed of course! We finally got started about 6:15 (yes am lol). 10 minutes in a box pops up saying the computer needs to restart for updates. I clicked on snooze for an hour and apparently did something wrong because it restarted anyways! Uhg- I have to get in the shower and leave by 7:20! So I made my lunch while we waited for the computer. 

Finally got into chest ad legs again and started going. It wasn't horrible but again my reps are usually 12 to their 25 and my poor little lunges were not 90 degree angle- maybe more like 45/50. I do need to work on those! The chair salutation was a leg burner for sure!! Holy crap I held it for 5 seconds x 3. Same for wall squats and single leg wall squats I was shaking! Lol I have a weaker right leg from all the driving I had to do for clinicals (142 miles per day x 5 days/week) so anything single leg on that side was much harder. Maybe this work out is harder than I remember lol looking back I always think it wasn't do bad but recalling each movement paints a different picture. 

I didn't have time to finish before needing to get ready for work :( I still have abs to do and yoga. If the kids cooperate I'll finish the chest and legs video but if not I'm not going to beat myself up over it. 

I wonder what tomorrow brings? I'm off work so I get to sleep in til 7 before getting up to do whatever tony has planned- woohoo! 

That reminds me it's woohoo Wednesday!! My woohoo is that I feel smaller already. Psychosomatic? Maybe- regardless I can't wait to see my measurements. The scale isn't moving but that happened last time I did a SP challenge. Only lost 0.5 lbs in 30 days but lost 3 inches! I'll take it :) I really don't care about the number on the scale as long as I'm feeling better and run faster lol 

Another random thought- the first 3 days I was not hungry at all! My husband was always hungry when he was doing this. I went ahead and ate frequent small meals to try and boost the metabolism. Well day 4 I was absolutely starving when i woke up and started to get a little hungry around meal times. Today day 5 I'm starving at meal times lol my poor body is so confused!

    Way to go!!I'm caring a lot less about the scale numbers too. I'm eating healthy and I'm working out more than I ever have so everything else will fall into place.I'm right behind you on the P90X journey...... emoticon

    Good for you! Just keep pressing play! I started P90X a year ago May. I made it about 25 days and just peetered out. I would like to try and start again. Maybe after my Warrior Dash.
