July was a fun and busy month.

All of July my daughter and family were here visiting. My son's family (who live nearby) were here a lot also. With 6 adults and 7 grand all 6 and under was fun but also chaotic. I was hoping to spend more individual time with the grandkids that live far away.
I wish my daughter and I could have spent more time together as well. It is just when everyone is here, it is hard to visit, because I was always busy cooking and keeping up with the household chores. The time went by quick. The in~laws live here too, so time is shared. My husband got to be PoPs and played more with them. I needed a little more of that time with them.

Everyone left yesterday morning. I was not feeling well, but I think I was also just exhausted. I slept most of the day, and did not have trouble sleeping through the night.

I miss them already. I am both enjoying and missing the chaos. Does that make sense?

    That makes perfect sense! You enjoy all the time that you do spend with them whle they're there, but it is always nice to get your own little world back again. Glad you enjoyed your visit!

Family is here.... fun but hard to diet.

It has been great having the grandkids here, but I have had no time to be on SparkPeople. I have not even checked my email for days. My diet and exercise routines have been bad. I can not diet when the family is here. I have and am having a good time with them, but I think I have gained weight. I am afraid to look at the scale.
Our refrigerator broke down too. So we have to run to the store alot. It keeps things cold in the freezer, and cool in the fridge side. Hopefully the parts to fix it will be in tomorrow and fixed on Monday.

The grandkids are 6,6,4,3,2,18month, and 14 months. 2 girls and 5 boys. There are 4 staying right now. When all seven are here,...... well all you grandparents and parents know what I mean. We have had fun, but I am tired.

Until the end of the month, I will mainly just be checking in and spinning the wheel. Then its back to being serious on my journey again.

    Visits from family can definitely crimp your SP style. My sister was in town for 3 weeks, so in addition to not having a lot of time as I'd like for sparking, there were also a lot of dining out and family dinners. UGH! But now that she's flown back home, I'm back to sparking and my exercise and nutritional routines. So good to be back in the groove again, and you'll be there too. For now, do the best you can, but more importantly, enjoy those precious grandchildren.

Honey, congratulations on doing as well as you're doing!!!!! Your grandchildren are all so little! I know that's not easy and we've never had that many with us!

Children grow up sooooooo fast. You're diet will wait. It won't run away. That's what my Gramma would've said. love, Darlene

    I was lucky we went out of town to visit family and I was able to use my aunts computer to log in one night and one night I logged in on my cell phone even though I wasn't able to do anything but sign in and track my water and food. But I was determined not to let the trip interfere with what I needed to do. I made sure to pack my own snacks so that when they were eating things I am staying away from I had fruit, crackers and nuts to choose from.

We have had a wii fit for awhile. Our tv stopped working, so we had to put it away. I liked using it, but was not as dedicated as I should have been.
We just bought a new tv, a nice flat screen 47 in. We hooked up the wii and I got on to see what I weighed. It was in Jan. when I used it. I started doing SP in March, but not serious till the end of April. Anyway I had lost 13lbs since the last time I had used the wii. It was finally nice to see.You made your goal!
It still insults me and tells me I am obese, and wants to chat alot. I wil someday get some admiration from him/her. I put in a new goal and this time I will make it sooner than 5months.

I like using it to mix up the cardio a bit. I plan on using the treadmill every other day now. I like the wii, because it is a little more fun, and I am still getting in some moves. I enjoy the yoga and the strength exercises too. I also like doing the wii sports. We have the fitness coach too. I didn't do that much before, and didn't like it too much, hmmmmmm maybe because it was exercise.

Maybe now because I am really into losing weight and being fit, I will try that tomorrow.

    Congrats!!! I've bought some exercise games, but the only thing I've really done is the Just Dance game. It's a lot of fun! I bet you are loving that new tv! Glad you are enjoying your physical activities more! You're doing an awesome job!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We have a wii but we just have the basic sports that came with it. Now that I've read your blog, I'm thinking of getting the excercize for wii.

    Congrats on the 13 pound loss! If you make it a goal to use the Wii more, I am sure you will. I agree with you about mixing up the cardio a bit. It makes getting it done easier for me. I get bored fairly easily doing the same thing day in and day out.

I feel pretty good about how I am doing. I am doing the 28day bootcamp challenge and it is keeping me into getting in the exercise, strength, and cardio.
I am almost looking forward to it everyday, I at least know I am going to do it, so it is becoming habit. It is coming easier everyday.
I just need someone to give me that kick a little earlier. My goal is to get my exercise in within the first half-hour of my day.

I am anxious to see how the end of the bootcamp plays out. I really think I am going to see some changes!!! I know I am.

28 Day Bootcamp Challenge

I am glad a joined this. It keeps me accountable. I think it will help to get me into looking foward to my workouts and cardio. I am good when I get started, I just need a little push and then I am off.

The timing works out well because at the end of the Challenge, my daughter and family will be here for a couple weeks from Colorado. I hope to have taken off some inches and pounds. There will be more cooking going on. I do not want a gain in weight ( daughter is great cook, and loves making deserts) while they are here. I am sure with 4 little ones 6 and under here it may throw me off a little. The positive is I will be able to have a little more energy to keep up with them better.

I believe being accountable to others is a wonderful thing. It keeps us on track. We all need a push at times and we also need encouragement from otherts. Being accountable provides both of these.

It sounds like you're gonna be a busy young lady with 4 grandkids visiting you.
