Way to go!!!! Sounds like veggies and fruits are common ground for you both!
I am making a big effort this week to cook/prepare all of our food for health reasons for the whole family. And I am serving a salad/fresh fruit/raw veggies before the meal as sort of a snack! That way, we are all really hungry and are more likely to eat the veggies and fruits!!!! (before meat and bread!) Keep up the great work! emoticon

Happy Saturday!

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Happy Saturday everyone! emoticon
I have had a few rough days, but today is emoticon emoticon emoticon

Last Wednesday I went to urgent care with a bad middle finger, it was swollen and in so much pressure pain. The doctor put it to sleep & cut around my nail to draw any infection or blood, but nothing came out. She said I had cellulitis a staph infection, gave me an antibiotic shot, and some antibiotics to take for 10 days. Today my finger is no longer in pain, still a bit swollen though. Antibiotics seem to be working, which is emoticonNot having pain is like a miracle! Since I could not sleep well for two nights, before going to see the Doctor. emoticon

I feel like my life is starting all over again! emoticon

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday! emoticon emoticon

Wow, I am sorry to hear about your finger, at least you did the right thing and it will heal. It is nice to hear that you feel like your life is starting over again. Perhaps the key to head down your journey.
Thank you for sharing this and have a great Sunday.

Weight update

Monday, January 10, 2011

emoticonHi everyone! Hope everyone is having a emoticonweek! emoticonToday I am starting to get back on track. emoticon emoticonI have been so bad for the last 3 months and gained 8 pounds. Went from 142 to 150 in three months. emoticonHow did I do it? I went auto pilot on chocolate. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon& Cookies too! emoticonI had to rethink about what I was doing wrong, and change a few things. For the past months I have been selling items on ebay, and instead of doing my exercise first, I end up packaging packages first.

Things to change:
#1) Walking & exercise first before doing anything! emoticon emoticonJust like I used to do. emoticonPack packages later when done. emoticon

#2) Stop buying chocolate for now, since I can't eat just one piece. emoticon emoticon

#3) Track my food. emoticon emoticon

#4) Think first before before adding anything to my mouth. emoticonAny little extra's can add up! emoticon

#5) Get my strength training 3x a week emoticon emoticon

emoticon emoticon

I have realized how bad it can get when I do not focus on exercising first, from now on it will be my priority. emoticon

emoticonWish me luck! I will need it!

Wish everyone a wonderful week! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Oh boy can I relate to this! I started eating whatever I wanted a little before thanksgiving and by my diet start date on jan. 4th I had gained 15 lbs. Talk about regret! Now I am remembering how long and hard I have to work to loose the weight... I need to stop my gain/loss cycle! It feels good to know I am not alone... Thanks! ~Katie emoticon emoticon

I really relate to this. I've put on 12 pounds in the last 3 months--which means I'm up above 200 again (from a low of 190). Yuck. Too many sweets, not tracking my food. I'd going right from this comment to track my breakfast!

Good luck getting back on track!

Wishing everyone a great after Christmas day!

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Just staying home for the day. Have been a bit lazy, not sure why? It could just be all that bad food, cookies, and chocolate. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonYes, I have been very bad! To scared to get on my scale emoticon emoticon emoticonplus not tracking my food. I will need to really work hard at getting myself back in mental shape, and stop eating all that chocolate. emoticonI have never even craved sweets before starting spark people, but this year I have been craving sweets like crazy! emoticonNot sure what happened? I really need help!

Here is a picture of my 4 month old Granddaughter w/Santa.

Wish everyone a great after Christmas day! emoticon emoticon

What a cutie pie- and too young to be afraid of Santa- like my grandbaby was.
I got all of the sweets out of my house today (took them to a big family party and left them all there) except two kinds of cookies that DH likes but I don't.
Why don't you start with a few goals- like just tracking- tomorrow would be a good day to start, wouldn't it?

    Hi Gloria.
Sometimes after a big day like Christmas, there is a little letdown which may feel like being lazy. As far as not tracking and not being able to stay away from the goodies, you have to look inside and see what has changed in your mind. You CAN get back on track and also be strong in resisting the goodies. I know you will do it. It is a good time to get a head star on 2011.

That is a beautiful picture of your granddaughter, hard to believe it's 4 months already.

Getting better & Cinnamon Rolls

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Today I will stay in and rest, seems like I have been resting forever now. emoticonBut want to feel 100% well before starting my workout again. My cold is not bad, but seem to get worse in the evenings. Yesterday I slept in till 1:30 pm emoticonw/my cat taking a nice long nap w/me. emoticonLater I made some whole wheat cinnamon rolls w/cream cheese frosting. emoticonNot very healthy, but it was one of them days. emoticon This cinnamon rolls have walnuts. The next ones are just regular plain cinnamon rolls. We added cream cheese frosting at our own risk. emoticon emoticonNow some tea will be nice!

Wish everyone a emoticonday!!! emoticon emoticon

    HI Gloria
A good day of rest may knock the rest of that cold out. This is one of those times that I wish I could reach into the computer and pull one of those cinnamon rolls out. They look so delicious. I am glad they aren't sitting in my kitchen, but for you enjoy them and get better, A new day is coming when you will feel good and will work off any part of the delicious medicine you are taking today emoticon
Rest well and thanks for sharing.
