Off of my routine...what day is it?

Sunday, January 11, 2009

One thing that I have noticed the last couple of days is that when you establish a routine and that routine gets interupted it can throw your whole day off. I have a little routine that I have gotten in since I have started working out again. (12/4/08) I take my daughter to school, drop my sister off at work and then I go to the Y for a workout. Saturday morning my hubby and I take my sister to work and then we go to the Y.

Yesterday morning after I dropped off my daughter and sister I had to go and pick up our initial order for Girl Scout Cookies (40 cases). I came back home and sorted out the cookies and divided them up for each of my girls. My daughter had an accident in her bed yesterday morning so I had to wash her bedding so I decided to just wash all of my laundry since I have to go to the laundry mat anyway. By the time I was finished with that she was home from school. Not long after that my hubby came home from work and we did our grocery shopping. I didn't get a workout in at the Y but I did get some in carrying 40 cases of cookies from my car and into the house and carrying 3 laundry baskets out to the car, into the laundry mat and back home again.

This morning we took my mom to see a movie and by the time we got to the Y it was almost time to pick up my sister from work. I did get 25 minutes on the treadmill today.

I have just felt out of sinc yesterday and today. I don't feel bad or depressed or anything like that, but I haven't felt like myself either. It is amazing how much better I feel when I can get my workout done in the morning.

Has anyone else felt like that? What did you do to get through it?

I MET...PASSED...MY FIRST GOAL!!!

Thursday, January 08, 2009

I weighed in this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see that I have met and passed my first goal. I wanted to get to 230 pounds for my first goal. When I weighed in this morning I was at 228.5. emoticon I have gotten rid of a total of 9.5 pounds since 12/4/08. My next goal is 215. I'm hoping to be there by Valentine's Day or so.

I am very pleased with myself for the progress that I have made so far. It is amazing how much logging your food and exercise can help. I have also gotten into a routine. Each morning I take my daughter to school, my sister to work and I head to the Y to work out. I try to do at least 30-45 minutes of cardio and a few weights. I come home and do what needs done here until my hubby comes home from work and then (if I feel like it, which I usually do) I go back to the Y in the evening with him. I might do another 15-20 minutes of cardio (depending on how busy it is) and a few more weight machines. If I got in a really hard work out in the morning then I might not go in the evening, or if I have other things that need done (Girl Scout Meetings, etc.). This routine is working very well for me but it has been hard on us financially since I'm not working. Then again, the doctor says if I don't lose the weight I won't be around to do anything. We will get through this with alot of hard work and prayer.

Thank you to everyone here for all of the encouragement that you all have given me. I really appreciate it and, believe me, it helps alot.

So as my pal Tigger says TTFN WHOOO WHOOO

I went overboard on New Year's Eve and gained a pound and a half back. I have been working hard ever since to get it back off again. I wish it was as easy to take it off as it is to put it on. I have made some good choices in the last few days. I made sure that I went to the Y today to get in at least a little bit of a workout. I did 40 minutes of cardio and 4 weight machines. It sure beats nothing at all.

New Year's Eve

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

I went to the doctor today for my monthly weight loss review. I have lost 7 pounds since 12/3. I am now only 1 pound from my first mini goal. The doctor told me that my BP and pulse rate were the same as last time. She wasn't sure if the meds she put me on to help with the weight loss would work against my BP meds. She was happy with the results, especially since the Christmas holiday was in there too. She told me to keep up what I'm doing and she would see me next month.

The End and The Beginning

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Wow...can you believe it? Another year is almost over. Where has it gone? I was thinking this morning...what have I done to make my life better? to make the world around me better? We moved back to Oklahoma from Ohio in August. We have had a rough go of it but I still believe that this is the place we are supposed to be. Madi and I are in Girl Scouts. I love working with the girls and helping them learn the aspects of the Girl Scout Promise and Girl Scout Law. (Friendly & Helpful, Respect Myself and Others, Make the World A Better Place, etc.)

Steve and I are talking about our goals for the coming year. I told him that I'm tired of setting goals that I can't reach. This year I want to set smaller goals that I know that I can actually accomplish. We usually set goals that we want to reach for each quarter of the year. (3, 6, 9 and 12 months) We have been married for 8 years now and we want to make 2009 the best year yet.
