I just created My Virtual Model and - wow - now I really, truly want to do this! I can be a hot mama :)

Why do I want to get healthy?
* I know from experience that I can't afford to neglect my health - and now my little girl is depending on me too!
* I need to be strong - she's getting bigger every day.
* I would love to feel confident and healthy again.
* Fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes would be nice - becoming too small for them would be even better :)

* How do I fit in exercise? I'm starting back to work and I'll need to use breaks for pumping and try to get home as quickly as possible to feed my daughter.
* How do I eat more healthfully? It's so much easier to grab something fast when my daughter's keeping me on my toes - and I'd much rather play with her than cook!
* How do I get rid of excuses? It's June but it's still raining in Seattle.

* Squeeze in workouts on the weekends when husband can take over for 30 minutes or an hour.
* Stay super-focused at work and leave on time!
* Take walks every weeknight after feeding my cutie pie - buy a rain cover for the stroller.
* Cook on the weekend to have healthy meals at hand during the week.
* Decide that potato chips, regular ice cream, etc., aren't things I eat, except on occasion.
* Buy good, easy to grab snacks.
* Sneak in push-ups, etc., while hanging out with my baby girl.
* Keep tracking my intake on SparkPeople!

It's not going to be easy, but I really want to make this happen!

Best of luck starting back up at work-- that's going to be a tough transition, but I know that you and the family are up for it. I'll be cheering for you over on the sidelines!

A walk each evening sounds really good.

I've been getting really into those 100 calorie snack packs. I can have just a small serving of cookies or chips that nips my cravings but doesn't sabotage my eating.
I also really like these Weight Watcher's English Toffee ice cream bars. They are AMAZING.... and of course skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. I don't feel like I'm missing the real thing at all.

Maybe I should make a virtual model, too-- but I'm making mine with curly hair heheheh...

    You have put a lot of thought into your weight loss. Breastfeeding and losing weight is a difficult balance to some (i know it is for me!) adding working to the mix makes it more difficult. The important thing `to realize is that you can exercise while with your child. (squats, lunges, "baby ups" aka baby in place of barbell bench presses, etc) Try to take things one day at a time. Remember what you want is progress not perfection

It's time

For a while, I've been wanting to get myself in gear in terms of health but I kept seeing obstacles: crazy stuff at work, finding a condo, new projects, emotional highs and lows, the bowl of candy at work.

So, no more. It's time. Sure, my work is wacky, every month I'm trying to figure out when I'm ovulating and whether I might be pregnant, and we're trying to get our condo ready and move in - but honestly, I'm not sure when or if things would really quiet down :) I can't afford to neglect my health - especially when I consider that it's absolutely necessary for me to do what I want to do.

My real challenge is to actually track what I eat: I've never successfully done that before. In the past I would go 110% percent until dinner and then blow it and not want to write it down. Again, no more! I'm going to eat frequently and write down what I eat, even if I'm not especially proud of it.

My goal right now is to get exercise at least five days a week, even if it's just walking for half a hour, and to focus on eating veggies, fruit, and protein, so that my body will be rockin' in terms of nutrients!

    Way to go!

I do the same thing. I'm good until I get home at the end of the night. Right now I'm trying to break it down into stages. At first I just worked on writing everything down, then I worked on the content (what I was eating), and now I'm working on hitting my target ranges.
