Musical Motivation

Sunday, August 05, 2012

So I'm on one of my musical kicks again. The kind where I want to listen to one band, all the time, on what seems to be permanent repeat. Thank goodness I have all of their albums in my iPod! But all of my impromptu dancing around leads me to this: Musical Motivation. Music is such a huge part of my daily life. I'm not much of a tv or movie watcher. But music? I can play it all the time, 24/7 and be happy. It pulls me out of bad moods, well written lyrics speak to me. It makes me want to dance around, and sing along(usually loudly and badly). I love nothing better right now than to put in my earbuds, crank my iPod, and ride ride I would love to know, what are your musical motivations?
Linked is my favorite band in the world, Kings of Leon

I feel the same way about music helping me to feel more motivated. I find that if the right song goes on my arm radio, I can spend more time on the treadmill at the gym. :)

Weight Loss Commercials?

Friday, August 03, 2012

So I've concluded that weight loss commercials are ridiculous. Take Special K commercials. This morning I watched one that has been shown before, the girl was already as slim as could be. Does she REALLY need to lose weight? NO. It just really skeeves me to see people who don't need to lose weight, featured in commercials and advertisements for such. Not really good for motivation...and on top of that. I don't need nor want to be THAT slim or skinny. There's nothing in those commercials that make me say, "Oh, I must go out and get this product so I can look like that!" But here, look for yourself. emoticon

You make an excellent point. I also want to point out to the old yoplait commercials that triggered outrage because they seemed to encourage anorexia and other ills. Our society needs to reevaluate what kind of message we put out there because we create the ills we are faced with now.

Right on! I have issues with the paid sponsors for places as well. I would rather see someone like me or a working class person, not a celebrity! You are not alone with being annoyed by all of those commercials!

You said it!! Speaking of commercials...what's up with all the food ads right before bedtime??? ARGH! When I'm rich and famous, I promise to only use REAL people in my commercials!!
Thanks for a great blog.

I so agree with you! I think they want "attractive" people n the ads, but in this case, it just discourages me even more!
