New beginings

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Well, my computer is back up and running.

There have been a few changes in my life in the past couple of weeks. I have moved into my daughters home while they are building us an apartment in their pool house. It is going to be so nice. The sudden cold weather has slowed the work down, but I am looking forward to it. We will not only be close to her and her family, but they have a huge pool that will be so great to exercise in come warmer (a lot warmer) weather. I love water aerobics, but to good at swimming. This will give me a chance to improve. At the same time I will be leaving my job soon and looking for another.

I am handling the stress of all this because I got my book, The Spark, and am following the guidelines. I have set my long and short term goals. I am ready to GO. 2010 here I come.
I WILL reach my goal by years end.

Well here goes the ugly truth. I was doing pretty good on the Twelve weeks till Christmas challenge and then it happened. As we were going through Walmart doing the regualar shopping right in the middle of the isle, THERE THEY WERE, my favorite seasonal candy, chocolate creme drops. I was so proud as I passed them by and finished my shopping. I knew if I gave in I would eat not one, bu the whole bag.

Later I remembered something I forgot to buy and had to go back to the store. And THERE THEY WERE, at the end of the isle of the forgotten item. Ever so siftly my hand (without my permission) reached out and put one in the buggy without a thougt. Well I told myself, if you just have one a day it want hurt and will last a couple of weeks. Later last night I realized that I had eaten every last one. WHAT WAS I THINKING!

Now I am thinking......that was BAD. But I won't be tempted again this year, I remember how squeezy I felt, they were so sweet. Today is a new day and THEY are gone and I am back on track. I won't look back I will only go forward and learn from my over indulgence. THANK GOODNESS I HAVE THEM OUT OF THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christmas chanllenge I am back.

Each day is still a challenge to stay on plan, but I feel I am getting better at it. This week I have had the opportunity to blow my healthy eating habits, but have managed to make healthy choices. I can do this. I have made some short term goals, taking one step at a time.

If it is to be it is up to me.

I am still here. I struggle to stay on my plan. I do fine during th week, it is weekends that are so hard. My DH doesn't help much, he is always wanting me to eat with him. It is getting a little better, but not much. That is why I like Spark People.

If it is to be it is up to me.

Keep your focus, you are doing great. Eat with him on your terms.... just watch the portion.

Don't I know about weekends!! Seems I can do great during the week and the weekend comes and I gain back what I lost. You can do it and I am glad to read that your husband is doing better about wanting you to eat with him. Just remember, you can eat with him but make healthier choices and use portion control. You can win this battle I am confident in that!
