My New Gym Buddy.

Monday, August 30, 2010

I made a new friend at the gym today. I've seen her at the gym before and I've tried to avoid her because I didn't think she liked me so much. Her name is the eliptical machine.

The gym was so busy at the gym we were unable to start our regular routine with the stationary bikes. Which really makes my legs ache for a minute and my butt numb. So a few of the elipticals were open and we decided to give it a whirl.

I was only able to stay on for 3 minutes because my knees began to hurt and I couldn't take it much longer. When I got off the eliptical I felt like I had a better workout then the 15 minutes that we normally do on the bikes. I was sweating, out of breath and walking slightly funny due to the tightness in my legs. It was all a good feeling really.

So the new game plan is to become good friends with the eliptical machine and increase the time each day till we both like each other and enjoy the others company.

Have a healthy day and happy sparking!

I love the elliptical! I find that it gives me the best workout out of all the machines. I like the stationary bikes too, but I tend to burn almost double the calories in the same amount of time on the elliptical and that always makes my day. BTW when I started on the elliptical I could only do a few minutes too. I can do like 30 mins now but i still have move at a snails pace lol.

I have the same gym buddy! She is always there for me even after I try something new like yoga, zumba or pilates. Everytime I turn to her for help, she NEVER fails me. I am glad you found her also.

Way to go! Sometimes it is a little hard to branch out into unfamiliar territory, but it sounds like you just jumped right in and made a big splash! Keep up the good work and good luck in your continuing journey.

Walking the Night Away

Saturday, August 28, 2010

Well so my weekend didn't pan out the way I had intended it to go. But really such is life. I think in reality by the end of Saturday I was able to grasp focus that the way I spent my day watch much better in the end.

Friday was BFF date night which I was so excited about because I haven't seen my BFF in a few weeks and I use to see him everyday. We went and seen the Last Exorcism with two of our other besties and the movie wasn't that great but it was night to hand out while it lasted.

Saturday my bestie and I were suppose to have a getaway up north, hang out and soak up what is left of these summer nights. We didn't end up going due to her husband working and her kids not having a sitter. I was really bummed because I haven't done any vacationing or hardly anything away from home all summer.

Everything happens for a reason...so instead I was faced with a whole day to find things to do. I get really lonely hanging out with myself all the time so I managed to start up an old project. Wallpapering in the bathroom which I will be able to finish up tomorrow...you know who ever said that was easy was lying. I was proud of myself, it sure was is difficult working around a toilet inside a bathroom smaller then a handicap stall.

To finish off the night I went on a 2.5 mile walk with my bestie and her tow kids. It was so nice to get out in the fresh air and walk, and the company was enjoyable too. I'm really looking forward to going again tomorrow night.

I feel that I have turned over a new leaf in my work out routine, she wants to walk every night which I'm ok with except I have a gym membership which I'm suppose to be using every night after work. My problem here is that I'm not at the point where I feel I'm able to go alone and my workout buddy and i always find excuses not to go to the gym...I'm not a fan of it. I'm hoping these walks will keep me motivated enough to use the gym membership. Cross my fingers...If I'm not at the gym I'll be walking, I wonder how feasible it would be to do both...

Proud of you for the motivation to do the wallpapering!!!! And it is feasible, I was just thinking of re doing my schedule to fit in time for the gym!!! And making it a mandatory thing! So my plan is to have dinner ready for Joe and the kids and not eat until later so....I will be ready everyday for 4:45-5 so...... if we work out hard and get done sooner would you have enough time to go walking?

3 lbs Gone!

Monday, August 23, 2010

Well I was overly excited today when I weighed myself at the gym and I seen 3 lbs less then the last time I weighed in. I thought for sure I would have stayed the same or even worse gained. You see as motivated as I was I didn't work out at all last week, but along the way I guess I managed to make the some decent food choices. I just have to try not to get to excited and use it as an excuse if I miss the gym again and say oh I'll be fine I missed a week and still lost a few pounds.

Even if YAY!!! 3 lbs down!!!! emoticon

Have a healthy day and happy Sparking! emoticon

Focus on the Food.

Saturday, August 21, 2010

I realize that when I don't use my food trackers or write in my food journal I don't do well with what I'm putting in my mouth. So it's back to the drawing board and what I thought I could handle and what I really need to focus on, my food intake. So I've decided no matter what goes in my mouth will be tracked, regardless of how outrageous it is or whether it make sense for the meal I eat it. I need to be aware of what goes in my body and its silly not to utilize the tools in front of me to do so!

Have a healthy day and Happy Sparking!

I love the nutrition tracker! It keeps me accountable and if I don't log I feel guilty till I do it.

I have realized this too. It takes time, but I told myself I am in no rush. And you shouldn't either! How much to eat, what to eat, what not to eat will soon come naturally to us!

Take Care!!

Even though I am staying around my goal I continue to track both food and exercise. I do this because it keeps me on track. Knowing I have to be accountable keeps me on track.

Oh the sweet cravings!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Do they ever go away?

I have a sweet tooth that seems to be like no other! I need to have more control and not give in. Seems like every time I go to the store I end up bringing candy home and I don't snack on it moderately. I'm slowly sabotaging myself.

My friend said fruit flavored gum seems to help her, so today I did pass up he candy for some gum. She wouldn't let me buy mint gum like I normally do because that obviously isn't working. So I'm hoping this helps.

What does everyone else do to curb their sweet craving and do they ever go away?
