Sooo I haven't been Sparking in awhile as I have been very busy with work and baby, but I'm still here, doing the work - And boy is it ever paying off!!! I really didn't use summer-time in a bikini as one of my motivations for working out and eating well but it certainly is a nice side effect :)
Since starting back to work full-time after my maternity leave I have managed to keep up with my running and circuit-training and find myself STILL losing weight. I was tracking my food up until very recently and am eating well over 2000 cals a day and still losing .5 lb a week!! I weigh myself weekly and am adding more calories as I don't want to lose any more. I don't want to cut back on my exercise, I am loving my routines and results!!!

The article went live last week but this morning as I was reading my newsfeed on facebook I saw another plug for the feature with the headline "Be inspired by Melissa, a Babyfit Mom who has used BabyFit to meet her health goals" - Wow did that ever feel good!!!
One of my biggest accomplishments in the last few Months since starting back to work was running a mile in 7'28!!! Hello "Girl who almost failed gym class due to physical inactivity"!!!!
Yes, I am pretty proud of that feat, I remember being in 10th Grade and not even being able to run 1/2 a km and here I am, 36 years old running 10 km's, 5 km's and a mile - FAST! WOOT WOOT!!
Well, I just had to share, it's not easy for me as I am rather modest ( With the exception of my Bikini Shots on here LOL ) and never want to come across as full of myself, but I am sooo proud of my feature article and my fitness achievements - I am happy I have a place to spill :)
Thanks for reading Sparkfriends! I may not be blogging weekly like back in the day but I think of you often as you are all responsible for inspiring me to push myself daily - For that I am very grateful! THANKS!!

    I'm pretty sure I've told you this before - but WOW you are so inspiring!!! My husband and I have taken the "plunge" and are now trying to get pregnant, and it is absolutely 100% motivating to see your pictures and read your blogs, and to know that it truly is possible to be fit, healthy, and trim after baby.     Girl, you have always been inspiring to me! You are making it happen for yourself and the results are AMAZING! Holy smokes, you are looking lean and rocking that bikini! Be proud!!! You have earned it! Off to read your article now!

*Seriously considering doing the Ripped in 30 challenge after seeing your results! What workouts are you doing these days? I have been doing lots of yoga, as usual. Trying to incorporate more strength training and running, just cause I love it. Getting your time down to 7 1/2 min/mi is fan-flippin-tastic!!! You are an ATHLETE!! Keep feeding yourself nutritious food and your weight will plateau. I am looking forward to the day when I can incorporate more healthy fats in my diet. I am still in weight loss mode right now, but just trying to focus on health.

Anyways, keep it up! It is nice to have a fellow gym class dropout turned athlete to share the experience with!

...So Many Positive Changes - Just in time for my Son's first Birtday!!!

Well, I did the weight and measure thing today as I had some goals to hit before my Son's First Birthday ( Sat.). Overall I am VERY pleased :)
My target weight was 122 and I am sitting at 119.5. I also achieved my waist-to-hip ratio target of .80!!! I am now .79! The only goal I missed was the Bodyfat% -
My goal was to be 19% and I am still in the 20% range, I seem to be stuck there. But honestly, I think that is awesome considering I am now juggling working full-time outside of the home as well as taking care of my beautiful baby boy!! I think I am doing ok :)
It's hard to believe that when I gave birth a year ago I was 168 Lbs!!! So many fantastic changes...When I left the hospital I could barely walk, and today I ran 5 Km's in a record time of 24:51!!! WOO-HOO!!
I have attached some pics of me trying on my "Skinny Shorts" that I could barely fit into BEFORE giving Birth, a size 7. These are clearly too big so on the weekend I went and got some new shorts - A comfortable size 3!!
What an awesome feeling :) - Thanks Sparkpeople!!!! And thanks to all of my fabulous Sparkfriends - Keep with it, it totally works!

...A Fun Weekend :) - ( With Pics )

Yesterday by best friend came to visit from out of town. We had sooo much fun!! She has lost a lot of weight as well, ( 20lbs ) so we had a really girly night - I cooked a healthy dinner and then we got all dolled up. Hubby took pics!



After that we listened to music and danced around and then decided to go to a Night Club for a bit :) - I haven't done that in AGES!!! It was soo nice to feel YOUNG again, and we both decided that the reason we felt so young was because of our new, healthy lifestyle!!

Rachel_Mac's Progress Picture Challenge - Week 12

Ahhh!!! Sooo busy right now!! I REALLY want to be Sparking more, but with baby, work, working out, family time...I don't have a lot of spare time on my hands!! :(

I am very happy though!! And I have completed The RM Pic Challenge!
WOO-HOO!!!! Last week was a real test though - My baby had been sick for a Month, and I finally got it - I had the flue for a couple of days and then just a bad cold but my workouts suffered. I am proud of myself though, I still met my fitness minutes and calories burned goal!

I LOVED this pic challenge! And I am thrilled with the results. In the 12 weeks since I started this challenge, I have lost 6 lbs ( bringing me to a total of 30 lbs lost since the end of Aug. 2010!! ) and my body fat went from 25.01% to 21.4!
I have also completed my first round of Ripped in 30! Jillian Michaels ROCKS :)
and I am sooo happy because I just checked iTunes and it is now available on there so I can download it to my iPad with the rest of her workouts and take her everywhere I go. I am going to do Level 4 again tomorrow!

I am very thankful to Rachel Mac for starting this Pic Challenge, it's getting harder now to keep things interesting and I found this to be a huge motivator.
I am going to lay off the "Challenges" for a bit now, and just do a different Jillian workout a few times a week along with going to the Gym and Running.

Thanks sooo much my awesome Sparkfriends!! You guys are so great! Thanks for reading my blog every week, I really appreciate all of your kind comments!

Rachel_Mac's Progress Picture Challenge - Week 11

Ok so Holy wow what a busy week!!! I started the Gym again last week as I have someone to go with now, So I did three hour long workouts ( Treadmill and ST ) there on top of my Jillian workouts and running...Finished the week off with an AMAZING Bootcamp hosted by an ex-CFL / Personal Trainer / Reality TV Show Host named Tommy Europe!! He was sooo nice! During the Keynote Speech he had me ( me!!!) come up to the stage in front of 100's of people to perform the proper Squat technique!!! Below is a pic of us - Isn't he Ripped?!?



I ate really well this week too! I managed to loose .4 lbs, but I am really not trying to loose any more weight so maybe I will up my Calories this week.
My Bodyfat % down .6% to 21.4% so that makes me happy :)

I am feeling sooo strong! I am proud of myself - Last week was very challenging as my Baby is sick ( AGAIN!!) - This time with the flue :( and I had an extra day of work sooo it was a lot to juggle - THANK GOD for my amazing Husband, who is so incredibly supportive...There is no way I could keep up this schedule without his help! Anyways, my Husband and I will continue taking turns staying home with our boy until he gets better.

This is the last week of my Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 challenge, as well the last week of the pic challenge!!! I will really need to BRING IT!! Unfortunately I will have to start "bringing it" tomorrow, as I can hardly walk today because of yesterdays Bootcamp LOL...So I will rest up and start tomorrow :)

This week I am comparing start pics to weeks 5 and 11 :)
