The scoop on my day

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

I made it to the doctor's appointment this morning. My surgery is scheduled for next Monday. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.
Got back home in time to go pick up my grandbaby from preschool. While out on my yarn run over the weekend, I picked up a couple of beginning sewing projects for her and I to do together. You never saw a happier child! She was so excited. She just kept saying over and over how proud her momma was going to be of her sewing. LOL She warms my heart even on the coldest day. emoticon .
I did pretty well today even with the grandbaby trying to ply me with M&Ms LOL. She asked me why I didn't want the rest, and I told her I was eating healthier. A little bit later she came up to me and asked me if I wanted the rest (again). This time she insisted I hold the bag.... it was totally empty! She looked at me with this big mischievious grin on her face and said: "HA HA! I tricked you!!!!" What a stinker she is lol.

Good things come to those who wait?

Monday, February 25, 2013

Looks like I will be going back to the doctor tomorrow. I got to my doctor's office this morning for my appointment only to find that he had been called to emergency surgery. My appointment has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Not a big deal except it throws my weigh in for the week off yet another day. Maybe good things come to those who wait? emoticon

Love my mother - daughter time..

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I had a wonderful day with my daughter today. We always have a good time together. Well almost always LOL. No, really, we do get along great. I bought lots of yarn for future projects and she bought soap-making supplies. (Her newest hobby).
I think I am stocked up for awhile and we made a pact that we would not be buying craft supplies for awhile lol. I wonder who will break that promise first?
I will head home tomorrow after my pre-op appointment with my doctor in the early afternoon. I really do miss her company when I go home after a visit. The house seems even bigger and more quiet than ever.
I have a big decision coming my way in a couple of months. I won't say what it is just now but please pray that God will direct me in this decision. I really want to do what God would have me to do, and I know that he will lead me in the right direction.
Gonna go work on my crocheting.

I miss my mother big time, but I know she is with Jesus. It is sooooo good to know there are others who have a solid and blessed relationship with their daughters.

God be with you on the tough decision that lies ahead. Seek his wisdom and he will let you know for sure what is best.

Checking in

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Its been a few days since I've written anything here so I thought I would do so this morning. My sister-in-law and I took advantage of a Ladies Retreat that her church was holding over Friday and Saturday. I had an opportunity last year to attend their retreat. What an amazing bunch of ladies! I really feel renewed and ready to face the upcoming weeks. Although it was a really spiritually filling experience, I don't have to tell you that it was not so "diet friendly". lol But I am very proud of the way I handled it. Since it wasn't one of those retreats that you actually "stayed" all day/all night, I ate before I went on Friday night, and of course I was able to have breakfast at home on Saturday morning. There were certainly the temptations there, but I can truly say I wasn't really even tempted. Lunch on Saturday was the biggest challenge... each table was served a big crock pot full of roast beef, carrots, and potatoes. I ate what I would judge to be 1/2 cup of carrots, a small potato, and a very small portion of the roast beef. I skipped the bread (gorgeous home-made rolls with butter) and had a bottle of water. The only treat I did partake of was a marshmallow on a stick smore. I just had to lol. It was very simply made... one large marshmallow dipped in chocolate and then tipped slightly on top with crushed graham crackers. I thought this would be really cute for children. Overall.. I was very proud (I passed up turtle cake LOL).
I am anxious to see how tomorrow's weigh in turns out. I really didn't journal much over the last two days. So, I am curious to see how this week will effect my weight loss if at all.
I am with my daughter today. We plan on making a yarn run to Columbus in a bit. I am always up for that LOL.

Sounds like just the spiritual break that you needed to give you a boost for all that you are experiencing in your life right now. Another confirmation that God knows exactly where you are and what you need and is supplying those needs for you!

God bless you!

emoticon Your weekend sounds lovely - uplifting and supportive - and it also sounds as if you handled the food situation beautifully - and I love your attitude! Good for you!!! (BTW, the on-the-stick s'more sounds like a cool way to have a taste without the temptation of eating a "full portion" of the traditional one.)

Hope you and your daughter find some amazing yarn today and that you enjoy each other's company. Be well, Mellie.

Maybe you can introduce healthier options to the group. The healthier we are, the more good work we can do!!

Update on tomorrow..

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

FIrst of all I would like to thank everyone for your prayers and your kind words of support. I haven't really had a chance to check back here until now, but believe me when I say I could feel the prayers being sent. After I posted my blog this morning, I again prayed and immediately I felt strengthened enough to leave it with God. Throughout the morning I stayed busy and was able to feel a sense of peace. Around 1 O'clock today my attorney's office called and said that the meeting for tomorrow had been cancelled per request from my husband and would be rescheduled for a later date. I am trusting that this is God's will. I KNOW He holds my future and am still praying that all things will be done in His time.
I can never thank you enough for your prayers and beautiful, gentle words of encouragement...... I truly needed your support this morning.

Love,
Mellie

Rest in His arms! God has you in the palm of His hand and He will take care of you! Don't be discouraged when things do not turn out as planned, for He may have a different plan for you to follow! Trust Him to work in the situation and give Him praise for a good outcome even before you see it in manifestation! He is working on your behalf!

I know how hard this is; I have been there myself. Don't let him wear you down; keep the faith and know he is a sick person and PRAY for him, as he really needs it. I will pray that God speaks to him and helps him to be fair. I will pray that God will keep you strong.

God's Blessings,
Pam

You sound as if you feel less besieged, and I'm grateful. Yes, His will. And you know that we're all still here, too, Mellie.... Hope you have a peaceful evening and a good day tomorrow.
