Dinner is one of my least favorite meals!!!!! Every night my boyfriend and I have the hardest time figuring out what to make for dinner!!!

We can never decide so then we settle for McDonald's or going out to a sit down restaurant. I have tried planning meals for the week and that doesn't work. I have prepared every single meal for the week to the point were all we have to do is pretty much heat it up. We still end up going out to eat or eating like boxed meals.

I always feel guilty every single time we do this and I know that it's bad as we ordering food.

It's just that we are so tired and hungry after work that neither one of us wants to cook! So we settle for what's easy.

Does any one else have this problem and if so how do you break this awful habit?

It is hard. The best thing I've come up with is batch cooking on the weekend. And maybe planning ONE dinner that you can cook on a weeknight after work that you know you will have ingredients for and you can make it in less than 30 minutes. The batch cooking on the weekends also helps with having homemade things to bring to work for lunches!

Another good thing is to make soup or chili and then freeze in containers so you can just grab them and warm them up for quick lunches or dinners too!

I make tons of food on the weekend and then I have lots of things to choose from for my dinners. Trying to substitute a protein drink if I get in after 8pm.

I have this problem currently, especially because I'm still a novice cook.

How about this for a start - on weekends/public holidays, try to prepare/cook food at home instead of going out for meals. And for work days, make sure you eat lots and lots of fresh fruits (that what I do as it helps me to not overeat greasy food) to balance out the eating outs and make sure you try to make the best choices such as take smaller portion or split the portions into eat now and eat later (I did this one time at a restaurant for a lasagna).

Good luck!

Bad Day

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Today was not a good day but I am okay with it! I didn't make the best food choice today and didn't make it to the gym... Tomorrow is a new day and I will get back on track tomorrow!!! Gonna hit up the gym and get my sweat on, lol!

Starting on Thursday we are going to be house/puppy sitting for my uncle for about a week. House sitting has become a second job for us. We have done it so many times for family members :) we do make a little extra money, so that's nice. I'm almost thinking about taking an ad out on Craigslist.... Lol!

Oh! Plus I was a little grumpy and super tired....Tomorrow WILL be better!!! =)

Tomorrow is a new day! We are all entitled to bad days. Just don't let your bad day turn into a bad week, bad month, bad year. You CAN do this. emoticon

First day at new gym

Monday, January 23, 2012

So today bf and I went and worked out at our new gym! I did 30min on the elliptical! It was so nice to use a piece of workout equipment that actually worked, compared to our apt gym...
Tomorrow I will do some ST!
I have a good feeling the gym will keep me (both of us) motivated to workout!

So after being stuck in my small apt all last week because of a nasty snow and ice storm, I am pretty excited to be going back to work tomorrow!!!!!

Have a great week!

Sounds like you are starting an exciting 'new chapter' in this journey. Congrats on the gym membership and getting back to SP!

Snow/ice last week? Guess that's something you didn't have to deal with in FL???

Glad to hear you have found a place to work out and a buddy to work out with. I have found that the most important componant of that equation is the friend.
Enjoy your week as well!

It's been too long...

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Wow so the last time I did a blog was in April and it wasn't even a real blog! I was answering silly questions, lol!

I am trying to get back on track. I am doing better but still having a difficult time with getting my eating under control. All I crave is sweets and when I am bored I am eating. I am going over my calorie range almost 4 out of the 7 days .

BF and I LOVE to go out to eat. We hate cooking after working all day. Just have no energy to cook especially if we workout after work. I know that is going to have to change. I know I could do slow cooker meals or make meals and freeze them. I try to do as much as I can on the weekends. I do plan out my meals for the week and go grocery shopping on the weekends.

We are planning on joining a gym as soon as we can get the money for the start up fees. It's gonna cost a little over $100 for us to sign up and then $10 a month. Very decent pricing! It's a great looking gym too! I am very excited to join!

I just wanted to say that I am back. I am going to try my hardest to be a lot more active here on SP! Miss all you guys!

I've been MIA as well. I have the same problem as you. My hubby and I love going out to eat, and we are frequently too tired to cook after work. I'm in need of some major overhauling to get myself to where I want to be. Good luck
