Catching up and settling down

Thursday, August 09, 2012

My daughter decided back in october that she wanted to live with her dad. Now she is moving back in with me. My house is a fixer upper and had been working on it slooowly. But now I have been getting my room painted so I could move into it so she could move into the bigger room. It still needs some work, but big enough to work in with her stuff.
I haven't been exercising yet since I've had to rush more to get the house more ready especially since she will be starting highschool this year. And I started my new job/second job at IHOP, I love it so far but not making much money since we just opened (was taken by tornado May 2011) so every one is newish. And they schedule more people because we're new. But some of us are just ready, because we have served before. So that will get better as it thins out and I get more tables.
And with the training and testing of the food I haven't exactly been eating properly, but I haven't gained which is good.
So thats my catch up status, and now things will hopefully start settling down soon.

Glad to hear Ihop is reopening. You are going through huge life changes right now. Do what you can, forgive yourself when you can't do it all - none of us could : )

Hey, I figure that anytime you can maintain the progress you've made when you're up to your eyeballs with changes and stress, you're actually AHEAD of the game!

I don't know which is more stressful (in a nice way) -- rushing around to pack up your child's belongings so they can move out, our making room and changing priorities so they can move in. I've had to do BOTH in the past two years, as well as welcoming my elderly mother-in-law.

Life does get interesting, doesn't it? Keep up the good work!

Where is it??

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Once I found a part of sparkpeople where it helped you save money. Ideas and such. Meals etc. Now I can't find it. My daughter has decided to move back in with me, so I definitely need it.

Also I haven't been counting calories or working out this past week (with back and such). Wasn't exactly good, but only up 2lbs. And my back is no longer sore.

when we think of healthy living, we don't always consider healthy well managed finances.

Sore Back

Monday, July 16, 2012

So my back is pretty sore. I know it's from sitting at my computer for to long over the past week. And as it started getting sore, because it wasn't constantly, I didn't spend as much time. I did pick up some crap out of my yard which probably aggravated it. And now since working yesterday it is sore constantly. I did get out the heating pad and laid on it while I watched a movie last night when I got home. And my bed is awesome but I'm a all over it sleeper. Today I used the pad for a bit to loosen it up and that help, I can move more. Then I iced it and took some pills. I just need a more supportive chair because what I want to do (future dream job) requires my setting in it for hours upon hours. But for now i'll get up and walk around the block or clean up for a set amount of time. I'll pay more attention. And get a new chair when I can. This chair is really old and used when I got it, a cheap student type chair.

Other wise, I did take yesterday off as my junk food day. I didn't go crazy like in past practice times. But I did gain of course, but it should come back off over the next day or two. And I'm suppose to start working out today. I planned on walking the dogs. I prefer the morning time but as my back loosens up more I will go later.

Going it alone

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Going it alone and I don't mind. My dd (14) lives with her dad. Which only happened over the last 18 months. But after our tornado, I had to move in with them. While appreciated, did not work very well. In october they found an apartment and moved out. So I'm used to being alone and I like it. She is my only family. I don't have any close friends to help encourage and motivate me so here is where SP comes in. PS I am not lonely. I like to be alone, I should work from home, lol.
SP motivates me. I can find any info and tips here that I need. And I love Bob and Jillian. I love to read other peoples blogs and have people respond to mine.
I have been counting calories on a wipe board on my refrigerator. But now I need to convert over to SP counter to make sure I'm getting proper nutrition. I don't eat junk though, just need to see the protein, calcium, etc.
And I need to start working out soon, tomorrow. I'm going to do anything that counts starting with 10 mins. A slow commitment. Anything goes. I want to work up to the C25K, again. I made it up to the 20 min week before. And I really liked it.
I have been a come/go SP. I plan to stay. All my old SP friends and teams are mostly inactive, so I'm looking for new ones.
And I'm still really motivated!!

POW POW POW!!!

Saturday, July 14, 2012

I am sooo excited and soooo motivated that if I could dispense it from my body and wrap it up in a box I would. I would send it to all the people who need some motivation. But beware when you unwrap it (cuz it would be wrapped like a birthday present) it would go POW. Explode!! And it would get all over you like a air borne contagion. It would seep into your skin and then you wouldn't be able to sit down. POW!!
GET YOU SOME!!! POW

This is a cool thought! I could really use it if you can get it all boxed up! In the meantime, I am working on my own!
