a mini goal...woop woop!

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Okay, so my one year anniversary with my amazing boyfriend is on the 18th. I would LOVE to be below 180 for that date. It's a really reasonable goal, and totally attainable! lose at least 2.1 lbs in 11 days. There you have it.

hooray for chicken!

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

okay, so my boyfriend picked up some perdue chicken. special and wonderful thing is, they are individually wrapped! they're called "perdue perfect portion" and it is perfect. it's great for people eating healthy, and it saves from cooking too much, or wasting chicken and money. i marinaded one breast before my 30 day shred workout, and i'm eating it now. it's brilliant.

    MMM.. chicken.....
How did you marinade it? I've been cooking it out on the grill alot lately, soaking in pinapple and soy sauce.

Haha. I couldn't resist checking out your blog when I read the title under 'team announcements', wondered what it could possibly be about. Well, didn't take long to work that one out emoticon

Just wondering whether you have ever been told you're a person of few words before, haha. Great work on your part, oh, and welcome back. emoticon

things are good.

Thursday, October 01, 2009

been with my boyfriend for about 2 1/2 months, and still going strong. it's been difficult not seeing him 1-2 times a week now that he's in jersey, but we talk almost every night. he gives me the warm 'n fuzzies, and i love him very much. he invited me to spend christmas with him and his family in chicago this winter. i already have my ticket, and am very excited to meet his family...there are supposedly a lot of them, like the gatherings you see in movies. he described them as "my big fat greek wedding" but without being greek. i've always had a small family, so this will be a lovely change of pace.

been getting my arse in gear! doing the whole exercise and eating well again...this summer was a little more difficult with that since both my siblings were home, and i usually do workout videos, and my brother was in the room where the big TV was...excuses, excuses. but, i'm really motivated again. which is lovely, and i feel so much better. my hamstrings got PAINFULLY tight before i started working out again, and now they have no pain and i'm much more flexible.

looking for a massage job, too. i sent away for my license last saturday, and a friend of mine from my massage school said it took about 2 weeks to get his license in the mail. so, i'm waiting on that and keeping my eye on craigslist.

my life is in transition, but i think it's going well, and going in a great direction. i've found love, happiness, and more self motivation along the way.

well, going to go clean house now...going to go stick my headphones in my ears, turn on my zune, and clean like a wonder-woman!

love,
melissa

Love can be wonderful!! Especially when you've been with them forever and they can still make you catch your breath when they walk into a room.

Glad that you're motivated to start exercising again!!

That sounds awesome! Isn't being in love just great. I've been married for 8 years now and I still get all tingly inside when he gets home from work. So your coming to Chi Town! I live in a southern suburb of Chicago! How long have you been a massage therapist? Is it fun and can you make desent $? I ask because I had been thinking about doing it but I wasn't sure.

spicing up your tuna!

Thursday, October 01, 2009

my mama-bear has been making this ever since i can remember...it's so good!

i use a whole can of tuna (usually bumble bee in H2O)
about 1/2 a medium sized carrot
dill pickle relish (or you can cut up any pickle you want. my mom made it with the sweet kind, and i love those too, but they are made with high fructose corn syrup which i do my best to avoid.)
i use smart balance mayo with omega 3's, but you can use mayo, light mayo, whatever you want. :-)
about 1/2 a medium sized apple

do the tuna with mayo thing first, add about a small spoonful of the relish.
chop up the apple and carrot into smallish chunks. mix.

enjoy! it's such a great, delicious, filling meal. and full of wonderful protein, and fresh fruits and veggies. w00t.

p.s. i'm eating it right now. :-)
