Slight Setback

Well, I may have celebrated my previous victory too soon! I gained 4-5lbs back and am feeling less toned than I was before at the same weight. I have only let up on my workouts slightly, but I know the major issue is my diet.

I think I started to have the thin person mindset and forgot that if I want to reach my goal I have to continue to be mindful of what I am shoveling into my mouth.( I have had A LOT of candy lately).

I am trying to figure out what I can do to keep my motivation for this last 10 lbs. I am SO close to my goal and really want to be able to know I got there the right way!

After 4 months of working out, I've officially lost 17lbs! I am motivated to continue the changes I have made and drop the last 6 lbs!

The most surprising part of the journey has been how losing the weight helped highlight other areas that were being neglected and had given me the motivation and the confidence to address and deal with those areas of my life.

I found my secret weapon, Spin class! I was feeling like I had hit a plateau and then I started going to spin class 2-4x per week. I am seeing the difference. I finally got back into some of my old clothes and am on my way to hitting my target weight. I have 12 lbs to go, but can already see the difference from January to the present. (see pic)

I am planning on keeping up with my spin classes as well as adding an extra 30 mins per day to my routine. I have started to slack a little on my diet and will tighten that back up as well. I am feeling so much better about myself than I was in January! The most exciting part is that I am beginning to feel like myself again, if not better since I am getting exercise and eating better than I was previously!

I started this journey because I wanted to look better, but will continue because of how much better I am feeling!

    Spin classes are great! I try to get to 3/week....with the right instructor, they can be an awesome workout!

Struggling to stay positive

So I am reading ALL the articles and getting feedback about the best ways to lose this last 10 lbs. In 2.5 months I have lost about 9 lbs which while good, isn't as much as I thought I could lose based on my activity level and diet.

I try to be really diligent about writing down all of my food, but I must be underestimating or something because I have not lost any weight in a while and have stepped up my workouts. I think the fact I am growing increasingly discouraged doesn't help. I just want to cry and give up sometimes because it feels like I am spinning my wheels. I am trying to stay positive, but am finding it really hard. Here is the change thus far (see photo below) the upper left is the first photo and the bottom right is the most recent. I can see a little progress, but would still be mortified to wear a bikini in public, which I am in10 days. :-(

I weighed myself this morning and have maintained the 139lbs from a little under two weeks ago. I am keeping up with my workouts but feel like the number on the scale seems to be stuck!

I have read differing opinions about how many calories I should eat to lose weight and try to stick pretty close to the range on my food tracker. I only have a month left and am getting a little nervous that what I have been doing, might not be enough to reach my goal (or get with in throwing distance) of it.

Any thoughts about what I might be able to do to boost my weight loss potential. I currently eat about 1350 calories average and workout 45mins-1hr -5x per week and then take a 45 minute walk with my puppy in the evenings. I am open to thoughts , suggestions, and recommendations.

    Have you tried inputting your calories burned weekly manually into the fitness goals section? When I did that I found out I was not eating enough...even though my "goal" calories burned per week was already set at 1500, inputting that number manually increased my intake. I just made that switch a week ago, though, and I'm still waiting to start losing weight again.
