I'm back...

Thursday, September 01, 2011

Well, I've been off for a while and due to stress in my life, I have allowed myself to gain 20 pounds since my last login. I'm not as heavy as I was, and I am thankful for that, but I am headed the wrong way.

I am now unemployed but it's a good thing. The job I had was causing me so much stress and it wasn't helping things at home with my husband and kids. So, I am starting a new chapter in my life. I plan on getting my health (weight) back on track and rebuilding things within my family that have been suffering for the past few years.

Every day is a new day, full of choices and I may slip from time to time but I am motivated to get my weight under control, not just for now, but for life :)

Girl Scouts Monster Mash - Louisville, KY

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

I am stressed out over the Monster Mash fundraiser that my Girl Scout troop is having this Saturday, October 24, 2009.

For some reason, this year we haven't had many troops pre-register and we aren't sure how many people are going to attend, so if any of you are in Louisville or surrounding areas and have kids ranging in age from 5-16, come on by and support our troop. Here's the info:

Monster Mash 2009
St. Rita's Gymnasium
Preston Hwy
Louisville, KY

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cost $10 per person plus 1 non-perishable food item

What's included:
Hotdog and chips
Cookie decorating table
Fortune Teller
Mysterious Boxes
Professional DJ

Additional food and fun items will also be available for purchase.

This information can be found on the Girl Scout calendar for the Metro area.

I hope that this will help make our fundraiser a success for the girls.

I'll pass on the word.

Motivation Quote

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

Searching the site today, I found the motivational quotes. There were lots that were very inspirational but I really liked the one listed above. Read it aloud and think about it. This is an awesome quote and is very inspiring.

I like this quote too, and I think I'll think about that. I just started on this site, and I really need to lose weight. It's harmful enough that I'm obese, but I'm also on a campus and I'm a 21 year old. Looking around on campus 95% of the students are fit and active and are either athletes or some sort of other exercise fanatic. It makes me nervous. Thinking about this quote may help me stay on task.

It's Getting Cold

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Well, here it is...cold weather. It seems a little harder for me these days for me to watch what I eat. Now that it's cold outside, all I want to do is curl up with a soft warm blanket and nibble on something...anything. I have been good and I haven't eaten more than I should but the desire is still there. I hope it passes son.

Down Two Sizes...Woo Hoo

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I got to the point where my pants (all 3 of them) were way too loose. I didn't really want to buy a lot of clothes right now so I thought I would just go get one pair of pants this week. I tried on, and bought, a size 12. I was a size 16 when I first started my lifestyle change back in June. I am sooo siked. A size 12! That's awesome considering I have been a 16 for several years. I can't believe it! A size 12! Woo Hoo!

emoticon That's awesome! You should be so proud! And I have to admit, I do know how this feels. When I first started (a couple years ago) IF I had chosen to buy new clothes, they would have been 20's. When I got into a size 12 I was elated. I need to focus on that feeling, so I can achieve that again..........and stay there.
