Getting back on track

Ok, I'm back. I "fell off the wagon" for about 6 months now, we've been so busy with life. So my eating habits are steadily declining, and I haven't seen the gym since April. Not good.

I've added back about 15 pounds to what I worked so hard to take off, and I'm pissed. All that hard work, all those hours, and I'm essentially starting over. I have to learn to stick with things, and not make excuses for not following through.

So the wedding's a month away, and I won't be where I wanted. But I can be smaller than I am, and I'll take what I can get. Lesson learned.

My new goal is to reach my goal weight for my 30th birthday. Nothing says happy birthday like a pair of size 4s, right? Right?

    Gosh do I know what you mean. I'm not even close to where I wanted to be by the wedding but I'm hoping I can at least get back the muscle tone I had before I fell off the wagon and if I could lose at least 10 more lbs before the wedding that would be great. I just worry about my dress fitting funny but I don't think 10 lbs will matter that much. I haven't worked out in over a month and am so mad at myself. We should help eachother get back on track. Whaddya think?

I'm so excited! Last night I ran a 5k (3.1 miles) in 29:45! I've been wanting to accomplish this since I started working out almost a year ago. Now I just want to keep it consistent. I had a great workout last night, I LOVE those nights. I've had too many "eh" workouts lately, and was losing motivation.

This certainly helped improve my outlook!

Moving again

Finally feel like I'm getting back into the swing of things, getting to the gym, eating better, etc. It's wonderful! I've only seen 1 pound drop so far, but am not discouraged. In fact, it's encouraging to me, I'm getting so close to my goals.

The gym's been super hot lately, which makes doing my cardio pretty difficult. They even have the windows open, and the temperature is in the teens here lately! That leads me to believe it's not just me who thinks it's stifling in there. I hope they fix it soon, my workouts are so much less effective when I'm dizzy. ;-)

I made the decision yesterday that I need to start "quitting" Lean Cuisines, and making my own lunches. I don't get nearly enough calcium or fiber on a daily basis, and I'm sure this is part of the reason. I'm going to start adding salads and rice & beans to my lunches, see if that helps. LCs are easy and fast, but I know I can do better. Hopefully this will give me the boost I need to reach my goals.


Winter Motivation

So this freezing New England winter stuff makes staying motivated pretty tough! But I'm making a big effort, hopefully I'll see it pay off soon.

Haven't officially lost any weight in 2 months. I know that's my fault, but I'm ready to see that scale move again. I've been really good about getting to the gym, 3 times last week, 3 this week, probably going again tonight.

One thing that's been so helping (and I'm not saying this to kiss anyone's ass!) is that a bunch of my friends are on here, and we're pretty competitive about SP points. Even though the points don't "get" you anything, it's fun trying to move up in the top 10 and beat people. It makes me want to do more than I normally would, just to get the extra points.

I've been soooo "snacky" lately. Always wanting something to eat. I'm not sure if it's b/c of TOM, or if I'm still staving off my poor holiday eating habits. But I'm hoping this goes away soon, b/c I've been hungrier than normal, and that's weird to me.

Made it to the gym 3 days this week, I'm getting back on track. My endurance is picking back up, and I'm feeling so much better. I still can't run 45 min without walking once, but I'm trying to shorten that each time I run, and it's working so far.

Eating is where I've been slipping. I'm working on getting back to where I was with making the right choices. 2 months "off" over the holidays, buying a house, and getting sick definitely aided in this little episode. I'm going to clean out the kitchen this weekend, and get rid of the crap I've been buying lately. Say adios to those Honey BBQ fritos and chocolate chip cookies!!

I'm so looking forward to spring, I wish it were here already. Ironically, we just had our first official snowfall last night of the entire winter. We only got about an inch that stuck, and it's melting as I type this, but it's still there. I'm hoping for an early spring or light winter, so the ground thaws sooner, and we're able to start hiking again. I'm so glad we started doing that last fall, it's been so fun and a great thing to do besides watching tv or shopping, 2 of our otherwise favorite pasttimes. Hiking around here is so pretty, and it's such a good workout. I really can't wait to get back into it.
