Officially -100 down with Metabolic Diet!!

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

FINALLY!!! I've been WAITING for this!! I've NEVER made THIS MUCH progress THIS FAST!! -100 down since I've started Dr. Poon's Metabolic Diet. 11 months! One month to go to the year's up! I'm going to push to try to get as much out of it as possible! My top weight was 322 lbs. I'm now 216! STILL boggles my mind!! I have to keep repeating it to myself to get it to sink in! BUT, I'm not happy with where I am. I want SO MUCH MORE still! I don't want to be "morbidly obese" or even "obese" anymore!! I don't even want to be considered "overweight"! I am 5'5" so, 65" and just exploring to find the Body Mass Index today, I learned that to not be considered "overweight", I must be under 150 lbs. But I MAY try to go for the best number of my "desirable range" BMI and go for 23, which would put me at 138! OY!! So much work to do! IF I can keep losing at 2 lbs a week, to get to 150 it will take until late Dec, and to get to 138, it will take until mid Feb by my calculations! I have been fighting MY ENTIRE LIFE - since I became a teen - to try to lose. I have never been a thin adult. I have NO idea what that feels like & where I will be comfortable in my own skin. I'm learning!! NOTgiving in or giving up!!

Just have to say congratulations on how far you've come in such a short time. I truly believe you are determined enough this time to get to that 138 goal.

Like Never Before!

Friday, May 04, 2012

FINALLY!! I've NEVER had this much success with losing weight all at one time before! 10 months without a REAL plateau!! I started out at 322 being my top regained weight, but am now 220.51. I MUST keep reminding myself of that. I am too prone to forget how far I've come. I am at the point where it is difficult to want to continue, because I desire to eat as I used to eat, but I KNOW how much that DOES hurt me! I can't do that anymore! I do not eat potatoes, rice or pasta at all anymore at this point. It's got to stay fully OUT of the diet, or I WILL NOT lose weight.
I still feel like I felt when I weighed this much 20 years ago... still unsatisfied with where I am. I'm getting SO MUCH CLOSER to being back into a size 18!!
I have got to focus on just eating right, drinking the water, and getting out to walk or doing exercise videos, and not focus on where I am, or I might get too nervous.
This is new territory for me, and it DOES make me nervous. I don't know how to be a thinner adult. I'd rather be invisible. I don't want the "ugh, you're too fat" reaction I'm so used to, though! I just need to do the work, and then start to deal with the head and emotional factors that get triggered after, I guess.

It is hard to adjust to life as a thin person when you always knew fat.
Right now it's hard but it's also fun because you are still losing.
And doing incredibly well,I might add.!!!! emoticon
Keep working at it and you will get there.
When you're close to goal, I would suggest looking for teams,or individuals, that are on maintenance so you can share what you are going through with people who know what it's like.
I don't know what it's like because i've never been at goal,but I don't give up hope!

You are doing great! You should be so very proud of yourself.

Have you kept a journal of your weight loss journey and your feelings along the way? Perhaps that would help when you feel weak. Just an idea...

Just today as I was out walking, I realized that a year ago I was so very self-conscious out walking, and two years ago it was even worse. [I have lost about 90 pounds] However, today, I realized that I haven't had that feeling in a long time. I think perhaps we build confidence along the way.

10 lb Progress! Whew!

Friday, July 29, 2011

Guess the Low Fat, Low Carb, Low Salt, No Sugar plan really does work. I'm still going to need to find a way for me to be able to COOK things for myself in this plan, so I can have more variety to LIVE on on a permanent basis. Not just a diet. :)

Can you see when you lose weight???

Friday, July 22, 2011

I don't know why that's ALWAYS been so hard for me! It takes at LEAST 20 lbs before I start noticing ANYTHING coming off. I think that's one of the reasons why people get discouraged and want to give up???
I've started a brand new diet that's the STRICTEST I've ever heard of, and yes it is supervised by a Doctor (Doctors, actually, because you never know which person you're going to see). I check in with them every two weeks, and get new tips about how I've been doing, and IF I'M LUCKY, remember to take my questions with me! :D I'm hoping with the next check in, this next Friday, I WILL see even more progress! I SURE hope so, because once again, if I'm making progress, I'm not noticing it, yet!! I guess I've got to see proof by numbers....
The month before I started this newest diet, I was trying to get prepared for it, so I started cutting down on my own, and I was surprised I had lost 6 lbs during that time! Since I've joined the Dr's program, I've lost 14 more. I'm not seeing any big difference in my clothes as of yet, but I think I can see a little more definition, and a little more loosening of skin, but that's about it. I know it will come in time. In this day and age, when everyone wants things INSTANTLY, it's just A LITTLE hard to wait! :D GOOD THINGS COME TO THEM THAT WAIT!! :D

My family and friends notice when I lose but rarely comment as my weight flucuates so much they don't know if they should mention such a delicate subject! We all want to wake up in the morning and be at our goal but we didn't gain it overnight and we must be patient in taking it off. Hang in there - sounds to me like you are doing wonderful.

I don't really want people to comment and notice, though. I'd rather do it and be done with it THEN have a little attention. Until then, I'd rather hide.

Oh, I'd make sure you take pictures. You might not notice the differences until you see it in a picture.

This time around, I am doing something different than any other time I've tried to lose weight. I am exercising. Including lifting weights. And I am noticing small differences that probably no one else can see yet. I think it's the exercising that's doing it. Things are tightening up a little underneath all the fat! emoticon
