I got on the scale today thinking that I probably gained, but had actually lost. The process of tracking what I'm eating works really well, even if I'm not "perfect". I feel confident of reaching my goal as long as I keep up with this.

It's so easy to get distracted from my weight loss goals. Then the rationalizations start. I'm in it for the long term and I've got to stay on task and I will!

My biggest time wasters are surfing the web and playing scrabble online. I also really enjoy these activities and find them relaxing, however I can certainly use them less and more wisely!

I logged in my food for yesterday, after going for 2 weeks without posting, and by the way, thusly going off the wagon with my healthy eating program. It's good that I balanced a fun meal out (Lime Jungle, fun Mexican) with eating very lightly during the day. Next time I have guacomole and chips, I need to put the chips and guac on my plate and not go back for more. Pulling from the communal plate, leads to mindless eating. I need to always use portion control.

I read a post from the Spark series on Mind and Eating (need to really read the whole series) and it was really strong, and I think will be helpful. I plan to put the 3 steps to accessing your conscience when you're struggling with willpower on an index card and carrying it with me. The three steps are:
1) Listen to your conscience when it starts nagging you, "Do I really want to eat this?"
2) If you agree, listen. If you disagree, decide to eat it. If you're not sure, postpone.
3) After you make your decision, act! See how it feels afterwards and note for future reference.
Very powerful stuff here! Thanks Spark People! I am going to try this out.

Well, have to go plan my food for today. Exercise-wise, I have personal trainer (ugghh!) today.
