So, we are in the last week of our challenge and I haven't checked in for a little while.
My hubby has all but given up on our fitness challenge that started a couple months ago. However, I said I was going to kick it in high gear, and kick it I did! Right now I'm at 111.2 (Remember, I'm 4'11"... So this is very much within my healthy weight range). I've been lifting weights, running ever other day, incorporating circuits, and eating GREAT. I feel better than I have in three years.AWESOME!!
The hubby asked me how I want payment for our wager! So guess how? I already have a plan for my $100. I made us reservations at a beautiful, fancy restaurant in north Atlanta and we are going out in a couple of weeks!! :) I can't wait! I even have a special dress I'm going to wear that I couldn't have fit into 8 weeks ago!! Fun fun fun!!

Well, I am officially blowing the doors off my hubby in this competition and I couldn't feel more excited about it. I have maintained my weight from last week - 114.8. But I know I have visibly continued to lose fat. And my strength is kicking in like I couldn't have believed! Last night I ran 4 miles, did a little light swimming, and helped coach the Man through a yoga routine. We had a ton of fun. And actually, we've had fun this entire time. 6 weeks in, we both are so proud of ourselves.
Still, I think the Man knows he's losing. ;)
This month I have a few things going on... The biggest of which is a solo trip for a conference. Before and during that, I intend to kick this thang in high gear. We are revving up for a strong finish here, folks. I'm looking to win by a large margin and I think it's going to happen. I will be gone for 4 days toward the end of the month and I really see myself eating salads and grilled shrimp the entire time with beach runs and workout DVDs everyday. I can't WAIT!!! I'm so psyched up about this I can hardly stand it. I'm starting to see a little bit of abs peeking through what was a pot belly a few weeks ago and that makes me feel even more determined!!
Hope everyone is feeling good and motivated out there in SparkLand today... Happy Monday!

Officially 5 while pounds down.... So I'm halfway to my goal of 10 pounds. And I'm already seeing major fruits of my labor. Last week I set a new 5k PR!!!! I ran 5k in 20:50!!!!! I can't even believe that even as I'm writing it....
I've been trying for for years to beat my record, which stood at 21:12 before.
I've been trying for well over 2 years to finally lose these extra pounds.
And all it took was a friendly competition with my man. To funny.
Feeling pretty excited about another healthy week. :-) Maybe I can drop a couple more by Friday. Who knows? I AM feeling pretty on fire right now, after all. I mean, runs peppered with strength circuits are actually starting to be FUN to me... What's my world coming to!?

I'm looking forward to my run tonight.
Like, really, really, REALLY looking forward to my run tonight. I'm wanting it so bad I can already taste the sweat! I have been so consistent the last couple of weeks with my exercise and eating. I'm feeling so much more energized! Even though work is hard, life is tough, school makes me feel like pulling my hair out, and my family makes me even busier, I have that outlet - exercise, running, and ACTIVITY to blow that stress out the window... Praise the Lord!

So, this morning, the day after the weekend... Weigh-in time again... And I'm down .2 pounds. Well done, Steele. Well done.
I can't help but be proud. The fact of the matter is that I ate out from Friday through Sunday and I was feeling pretty wary of that scale this morning. Not just that, but I was forced to take not one, but TWO rest days on Thurs and Fri because of my insane crazy hectic schedule. I was SWAMPED. Like, didn't walk in the door until 10:00pm swamped. I tried my best to make up for it with double workouts on Saturday (JM DVD in the AM and a Run+Strength in the PM.) and a great Run+Strength on Sunday. And I ate BIG Sat and Sun lunches so I ate really small for supper. This morning I am back to my routine - Oats for breakfast and chicken/salad for lunch again. YUM and HEALTHY.
So, that -.2 said, Good Girl. It said, you compensated. You made it through the weekend unscathed, Chick. I'll wear that -.2 proud.
