It's called the commute. It is the one thing that keeps me from going to the gym when I plan to go. I know i need to be strong, but at the end of a 2-hour drive, or ride in the car, I am just ready to eat dinner and collapse on the couch. Ughhhh. I am so good on weekends but I need to be more than a weekend warrior if I want to meet my goal.
I am trying to walk as much as I can and also take the stairs. But it's not enough.
Well, tomorrow is another day.

I have lost 4 pounds!! I know it's a small victory, but I am celebrating each small step. I am continuing my diet and exercise routine, and although it's been hard to get to the gym as many times as I plan I'm going way more than I used to.
I don't know if it's just my imagination but I THINK I have noticed my face and arms looking a little slimmer. :)

Well, this whole weekend was a setback. I ate at restaurants, which always spells disaster for me and did not get to the gym. I am getting back into it tomorrow for sure. Will be interesting to see what the dreaded scale says.

Well it is back to the gym tomorrow after a 2-day break. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my "days off." I am looking forward to it. I am noticing that I actually even enjoy it a little bit once I get over there and begin my workout.
I have also noticed that I haven't been as breathless climbing stairs as I used to be, which is a small victory ... but hey, every little success counts. I've also stayed at the lower end of my daily calorie allotment today!

It's been a week since my dreadful weigh-in, and so far the scale has not budged. But I feel good about the progress I am making both physically and mentally -- which is half the battle.

I am very proud of myself for meeting my goal of going to the gym this week. In addition, I have been taking more walks and sticking with my plan of eating healthier and smaller portions.

It's been a long time since I went to the gym on any sort of regular basis. Financially, for me the gym has been just like credit card companies are for people who do not pay off their balances each month. They take your money and you get nothing in return.

Because I stupidly I have not made a serious commitment to go, I have just been letting them take my monthly dues for no reason at all. It's exactly the same as throwing my money right in the trash!

Anyway, I am starting slow, but my attitude right now is "any little bit helps." I know I will have to push myself much harder and burn many more calories, but right now I am just at the "ease into it" stage. I plan to do the same (or better) this coming week as I have done this past week. My husband also goes with me, and it's great having him there to motivate me to go. Will update my progress.

On another note, my Buckeyes are in the final four! Woo hoo!!
