Overindulged

Thursday, December 08, 2011

Today was the last day of class for the nurse aid program I'm in so we decided to take our instructor out for lunch to celebrate. Most of the class all went to Applebee's and I hate to say I overindulged. I ended up ordering the unlimited soup and salad and a pomegranate lemonade. The problem is I had three glasses of the lemonade, two rounds of the shrimp and spinach salad, one breadstick, and a bowl and a half of the broccoli cheese soup. I feel extremely fat and my stomach hurts. I am not looking forward to figuring out my food intake for today but at least I did not order anything fried and I skipped breakfast. At least I we did not celebrate by getting drunk like so many people I know do, I'll save that for when I graduate from the entire nursing program.

What Next !?!

So this is my first blog and I really do not know where to begin. I have been having a rough time keeping up with my exercising since Thanksgiving but on the plus side I have been sticking to my meal plan. I have been so busy with school, clinicals, and the usual activities that comes with being a mom that I have very little time for anything else.

Orientation for my nursing program was Monday night and it completely stressed me out. The crazy hectic schedule that I will have for the next year and having to leave my kids at home longer than they are used to is stressful enough by itself. But then the instructors said that on average the students gain 20lbs during the program. I did not need to hear that!! I am determined to lose weight not gain but I cannot get her comment out of my head.

Then last night while preparing to cook dinner I sliced the top of my middle finger off and sliced into the side of my thumb, both in my left hand which really blows because I am left handed. The slicer went into the trash can, which was picked up by the garbage truck this morning, I never ever want to see one of those again. Anyways, now I'm in pain and am working at a much slower rate than normal on everything I need to do.

Here's to hoping that whatever the world throws at me next is a pleasant surprise and not more stress or pain.

My sister is wrapping up her nursing program currently and I watched as she struggled with balancing the program and her life. Just remember to enjoy the time you ave with your family but save a little "me" time throughout the day too.
Good luck!!

Sometimes we stumble and sometimes we fall. These events matter not if each time we get up, dust ourselves off and continue.

Make it a great week.
