life here includes sweating profusely on monday and needing a sweater on thursday. complaining doesn't change that, so kudos for looking on the bright side of the snowfall.

Uh, I'd like to respectfully disagree - coming from the Northeast, I've seen more than enough of "Snowmageddon" this season to last me the rest of my natural life! I'm sorry, but for many of us there has come a point at which the stuff just isn't pretty anymore.....just sayin'.....

Where the Road Disappears

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Where the road disappears,
the wind sings.....
so soft and sly
of long kept secrets...
of travelers gone by.
Where,
the wise old trees
bend and bow
and
the loud cries
of the low
circling hawks,
tell
the latest on dits
from the yet moody sky.
Where... in a shift of the Clouds,
and the passing of the Season,
the Shape Changer
returns....
where time loses reason ...
and existence
evolves
into living...

Porcupine break.....

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Yesterday I was on a tight schedule. First shift 8 AM - 3PM. Next shift was 4 PM Friday to noon (today) Saturday. I received a phone call.. my filly Little Jazz ( All that Jazz ) had met up with a nose full of quills. I was about an hour away. I left my first shift wee early ; calling in late for my next. Fortunately I was able to make a 4 hour window. I swung by the house and picked up my sidekick Keela and a few things to add to my med bag. L'Jazz is a coming 2 year old . Luckily, Jazz only had one nostril full of quills. I gave her a shot to ease the pain and inflammation before the removal of the quills.

That looks sooo painful. I wonder if she could eat with them there since horses use their lips to pull grass with. It probably hurt every time she tried.

Do you raise wolves or are they wild? What state do you live in? The scenery is fantastic and the animal pictures are wonderful, they all look like they are enjoying life.

Goodbye my friend ; we had joy we had fun..

Friday, March 11, 2011

Oddly enough, I find myself loving winter more and more.. despite the slick roads and the indifferent and cruel winds. I love the pureness of the fresh snow, the cool, crisp air...I love the sense of space and solitude. Winter is slowly being pushed out by Spring like weather. The temperature hit over 60* yesterday; melting the snow. I have tulips coming up in my windowsill - proclaiming the birth of a new Season.
A time for renewal is at hand. During this in between time of neither there nor here.. a metamorphic evolution is in progress.

A lot of us begin what was traditionally called Spring cleaning. I am myself, going through boxes and other odd assortments of collections. This is a healthy, cleansing process.

Make way for the new season. De clutter your mind of old thoughts.. of all your old negativity.. the I can'ts ... and the Never evers... it can and it will!

Spring clean from within with fresh fruits and veggies... refresh yourself with thankfulness, and the sharing of your appreciation. Celebrate your joys.. the changes great and small.

Remember where you were, but celebrate where and who you are now..
a wonderful, beautiful gift in my life.
