New Goal

In a discussion with someone my new goal materialized.

I want to Lose 50, by 50.
I am about 250 pounds, and I am 48. I would rather beat that goal by a good margin, but at the very least I _will_ weigh 200 on my 50th birthday!

I have been feeling that I have to do _something_ since I really have not been doing much about me.

So, this week I started by parking in the ground floor of the parking structure, and using the stairs to get to the ground level of the building. That means 5 flights of stairs to conquer each morning!

I am moving slow hitting floor 5, but I am not giving in to the elevator!

Now to figure out where I can track this...

  


New Start

Since my last Blog entry my weight has stayed pretty stable(RE: FAT).
I have begun modifying my diet heavily, as my gout came back with a vengance, and I spent a great deal of time working with a Cane!
I commited to riding in the tour de cure on May 31st of this year. Today is May tht 6th. I have not been on my bike, nor to the gym to ride yet. Heck, the brakes are not finished on the bike yet!

So, I have around 4 weeks to get myself into shape to at least ride the shortest course of the tour, which is about 10 miles.

This is the third year that I have signed up for the tour. Each year I raise money for my team, and the last 2 years I have been unable to ride usually due to a gout flareup or injury. This year that really has to stop.

Still no soda/sweetened drinks. I am staying firm on that.
Now It is time to really start thinking of what I am putting in my mouth, and how much is really needed to sustain this body versus how much I put in.

So, Maybe it is time to start using the tools here. I always resist change, so this battle realy is with myself

I have not had my goals firmly in mind since I started down this path.
the Chart I snipped below shows this clearly...



I will make changes to get back on track with this, as the impact to my body worsens, and makes it harder to exercise.

    Almost did it again today.

Grabbed a drink downstairs, read the label once I was upstairs...
At least before I cracked the lid.
Full of sugar is was...
