Sorry for the absence....

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

So this has been a sabotaging couple of weeks for me. I ate fast food every day last week and this weekend. Then I got sick and didn't exercise for 4 days. But, I'm back on the wagon so hopefully I didn't mess myself up too much.

It was a big hurdle for you to come back. Congrats. It's nice to know that SP is always here.

Week 6, Hypothyroid and Duffy

Friday, April 11, 2008

Week 6. That is so awesome!! I've lost almost 16 lbs and haven't slowed down yet. I really owe Sparkpeople and all you members for my motivation. I really don't think I could have gotten this far without you guys.

On another note, I had some blood work done last week. I saw my Dr. yesterday and it turns out I have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). So I got put on some medication and have to go back every 4-6 weeks to get my levels checked and the medications tweaked until my b/w comes back normal. This is so very new and weird to me. I have to take a pill for the rest of my life. Like I said, it's just so weird to me. I wonder if I'll lose weight even quicker now. I'm losing at a good pace, which is also weird considering I have a thyroid problem. Oh, well.

The final thing is that new song "Mercy" by Duffy is awesome! It's stuck in my head right now. If you haven't heard it you should definitely check it out!

Congrats on your great loss so far! I imagine as your thyroid function becomes normalized you will indeed see even better losses. But that doesn't mean you can stop what you are doing now that is working so well for you!!! LOL!

Week 5

Monday, April 07, 2008

Wow! Has it been a month already?? They say it takes 21 days for something to become a habit so hopefully my healthy life style change will stay with me forever. Well, I've lost over 13 pounds in about a month so I am very happy about that. I can't believe it!! I have about 2 pounds to lose to reach my first goal of 5% of my body weight. I'm going to try real hard to reach it by Friday. If not then definitely next week.

April Fools Goal!!!

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

The sweet, sweet satisfaction of losing your first 10 lbs. That's what I experienced this morning when I stepped on the scale. Yay!!! Double Digits!!!

Ok, so the title of my blog is my ultimate goal. I started out weighing 287 on March 9. I wanted to lose 137 lbs and weigh 150 by April 1 of 2009. That's about 10 lbs a month, maybe a little more. So as of right now, I weigh 276.4. I am going to lose 126.4 lbs in exactly 1 year!! I look forward to reading this blog a year from now.

I'm a WW Lifetime Member whose lived the last few years always flirting around my maximum allowed weight... which was 145, but as I've aged I lost an inch so now at 5'3" (instead of my 5'4") I changed my maximum allowed to 141. BUT... my own personal goal now is 127 which is middle of my height's maximum and minimum allowances. I joined Spark People on January 28th, 2008 when I was averaging 147.5 sometimes higher (I was not attending WW meetings either). Started back with WW combining it with SP and this a.m. weighed 134.0.

BEST WISHES... on your commitment to a healthier lifestyle!

See you lighter!
