I am finding that I am able to fight off some of my depression partly due to the fact of all the positive e-mails that I receive and read from other Spark People. emoticon emoticon

I'm another one who has battled depression since my teens. I know what you're dealing with. I know the pain. Hang in there.

Glad Sparkpeople is helping. Take a little time to add to your main page--put up a ticker and some pictures so folks can get a handle on some of the things you think are important about yourself---other than being depressed. I'm down right now because I've been sick and sometimes life is disappointing, but expect to bounce back eventually.

Is this the way you always feel? Have you talked to someone about it -- a professional I mean? Do you live alone? What do you like to do?

I'm sorry to hear that McCali. I can relate most of my family has passed on as well. I have been thinking of relocating, but home is always where the heart is.

Water

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I find that so many people have a problem drinking water. They have to add some flavoring to be able to drink it. I myself that if it is not plain water I am still thirsty. emoticon

I am a coffee person but I do drink tea after too much coffee and when I dont feel too well. I prefer green tea as opposed to flavored ones. emoticon

You're right about wawa! All diet drinks will actually induce thirst. Diet Rite and Hansen soda's may be 2 of the only exceptions, since they have no sodium. However, even artificial sweeteners will make folks thirsty. I like adding stuff to water, but I like plain water, too. I'm a health care professional and tell folks that only plain water, water with citrus added, or weak green or white tea count as plain water. Weight Watchers' standard is that if it's clear and has no caffeine it counts as water. That's certainly better than not getting enough fluids at all.

emoticonMy tea may not start out weak, but adding water to it a few times till there's very little flavor and color, gets all the nutrients out of it!

Depression

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I work a lot and finally I had 2 days off and I did practically nothing. I just feel too tired, I have so much work to do in my house and dont have any energy to do it. My friends wait patiently for me to have a day off so we can do lunch and other fun things. I dony even have any energy for that, I just want to do nothing. emoticon

Thank you all for your comments to my blog. I was checked for thyroid conditions
and I am not anemic. I do have very very low blood pressure and I have been diagnosed with severe depression in the past. After living with this for most of my life I do know the symptons of depression and I do need meds. emoticon

You are tired. I know the feeling, I try to remind myself that tired does not automatically mean that I am depressed, There are many other words, like disappointed, resentful, etc. When I use these words I am forced to face what is really going on in my life, then it needs to be addressed.

I know how hard it is when you are also physically tired. Emotionally tired does not mean that you are depressed ==give yourself a break and try some other words that fit the things that are going on in your life. It helped me, I didn't say it was easy, but it is worth it.

The best to you~~~ I wish you a peaceful day .

you also need to get your thyroid checked. Go to your doc, explain your symtoms and urge him to order any tests to see if their is a physical reason. Hugs, N

Depression is very real and nothing to ignore. I have fibromyalgia which comes with depression so i am very familiar with it.

Doctors will prescribe all kinds of drugs.............. I have learned that exercise is the very best medicine for depression. I bike ride = but walking, or taking an exercise class or doing something you like physical really does help. You have to PUSH yourself to get out there and do it = but once you do your spirits will slowly lift. Its not a miracle cure - and its something you have to keep forcing yourself to do but it does really help.
Good luck to you and feel free to send me a note anytime you're down. I know exactly how it feels
