Thanks Debbie and Michelle for telling me about the challenge. As always, it's a great way to get back on track (Fab 40s is the BEST team).
I'm going to try and do this challenge. Saves me thinking about what to do.
Well, I started today with spinach, onion and mushroom mix with lunch. Yummy!
Tomorrow will be difficult as I work over lunch and usually have a sandwich for supper. Can a cup of thick, homemade vegetable soup count as my green veg for the day? It contains cabbage, broccoli, courgettes, onion, celery, carrots, potatoes and dried beans. That's gotta be good!
Here's to lean, green times, girls!

Well hello blog page, it's been a long time...And in that time, I seem to have fallen off the wagon a bit. No matter how much I resolved to stick with the exercise, I couldn't keep it up for an entire week, and now I haven't done anything other than my daily stroll for over a week. To make matters worse, I've been eating whatever I wanted and not counting calories at all. That's fine if you eat healthy food, but all that chocolate and Christmas food didn't help at all!
Imagine my disappointment when I weighed myself the other day and found that I weigh 67 kilos. That's 4 kilos more than in November last year and at least 2 more than my upper comfort limit. I was really only confirming what I already knew: my trousers were tight and uncomfortable, and I'd started feeling a bit like a balloon ready to pop.
So what to do? I could whine about how weak I am, wring my hands in misery and reach for the chocolate. But that wouldn't help me achieve much! When I opened Spark today, I noticed an article in my favourites: "25 ways to get back on track today". A quick read confirmed that this was exactly what I needed. I'm going to try and do 2 small steps every day to get back on track.
Today I'll make a healthy soup for dinner and do 10 min cardio
Who's with me??????

My world has shifted. In a moment of time, I became someone new, someone connected across the world with invisible bonds of incredible strength....Baby Giuliano was born this afternoon. I'm a granny. I may not be able to hold him in my arms, kiss his downy head, or lose myself in his wise baby gaze, but he is more important to me than anything in the world.
Welcome into the world, precious little one.

What a shock to the system coming from 32 degrees to -2! I had a wonderful time in SA, visiting family and friends and spending lots of time with my son and daughter-in-law. It was relaxing and refreshing as we forged new bonds and got to know each other again.
I tried to exercise by walking while I was away and I did manage to do quite a lot. I'm very pleased about that. However,I did put on weight, so I need to get back to being careful and thinking about what I eat. Im also going to try the bootcamp. So far I've managed to do the cardio. Just gotta find the right time to fit in the strength exercises.
I'm so proud that my son is now trying to exercise and lose weight. He didn't say so, but I think my constant talk about Spark and feeling good may have helped him in that direction.
I'm waiting with bated breath for the birth of his baby...any day now. I'm going to be a proud granny!
