The little guy overheard hubby and I talking about my blood test results and while some of the numbers are improving, some are just frightening and well, he's very sensitive. ANYWAY, I was assuring him that I was doing what I could by eating right, going to the doctor, etc., and now he's my little food policeman. :) He's asking a ton of questions. Asking if I should be eating that? Is that a good food? I've given him a run down of what are absolute no-no's and I fully expect he'll hold me to it. He also went for a walk with me while we were waiting for his Social Skills Group. :)

    Jen, that's AWESOME!!! It is great to have them on our side. I just wish I could change what Matthew eats, but other than pointing out to him the risks (and freaking him out!) there's no way he'd change. I do what I can where I can. Like with his chocolate milk, we stopped buying the premade (which was made of high fructose corn syrup) and use Ovaltine instead.

    It's always nice to have an 'innocent' on your team :) Katelyn won't let me buy donuts for any of us anymore :P She also likes to do Wii Fit and Leslie Sansone with me :)

    Yup, I know. He's already asked a million questions. :) He wants me to get the family gym membership so he can go swimming when I go. I have a feeling this isn't going to be 'me' time. LOL!

But I do agree that you can still work anything into your moderation :)
I like the Dove dark chocolates for a quick chocolate fix :)
I don't know the specifics of your personal program though so I don't know if even a little sugar throws it completely off.
But WTG for getting through the day without the chocolate emoticon

    Some ideas (some already mentioned)

They aren't off limits. work it into your plan.

Buy miniatures. You're going to find, as with the soda, that it's the IDEA that's attractive, not the actual candy.

Start buying 65% Cacao and work your way up. I have 85% now and DH doesn't know how I can stand it. But, it's CHOCOLATE, and it's much better for you!

    hmm, I agree with all. Get some mini dark chocolate bars and have for when you get those cravings, IF you can limit yourself to just one!
But you asked to be saved so, I'm thinking maybe you're in trouble and eating a little may lead to more so:

YOU CAN CONTROL THIS! Grab something else, drink some water and get busy doing something to take your mind off it!

    I like to keep dark chocolate around in small pieces in the freezer. It helps with the cravings. Remember moderation.

    So have one!!! make it Dark chocolate so you get some benefits from it too!! I don't believe in denying myself the things I love, I do however modify the amount I eat!! Now my chocolate is a treat and I enjoy it so much more!!!

I just spent the last hour cleaning/decluttering my kitchen. You guys don't know how HUGE this is. LOL! So I figure that helps me in more ways than one.

1) I wasn't just sitting on my butt on the computer.
2) I'm sweating, so I must have gotten my heart rate up.
3) Getting rid of things is always good.
4) Getting a place for the boy to hang up his lunch bags so they're not just tossed on the kitchen floor. That had been the 'spot' for them. :(
5) My hubby will be glad to see it, even if he doesn't mention it. :)
6) It will make it easier for me to cook if the counter tops aren't full of crap. :)

Productive day so far.

    Yay! I always consider any housework that makes me sweat as exercise :) If it raises the heart rate and makes you sweat it HAS to be cardio :P
And a clean kitchen is ALWAYS a good thing :D
