Pre-Pregnancy Clothes...Not as Close as I Thought

Thursday, June 04, 2009

Ok, so I'm about 5 lbs. away from where I was prior to becoming pregnant, which is a good thing. However, I am having a hard time not getting down on myself because the clothes that I wore back then just don't fit how they used to. I know in my head that having another child at an older age has caused my body to shift somewhat but it's still kind of frustrating. I had been using those clothes as a goal but now that I'm so close and it isn't looking promising, I'm looking for something else to keep me going. Wish me luck!

My body totally changed after I had the twins. My hair lost most of it's curl and my eyelashes are straight so that I have to use a curler to curl my eyelashes when putting on mascara. It is frustrating I know. Bras don't fit the same, pants that you thought would fit don't anymore--- hang in there and we all have to adjust to our new bodies after babies! You are not the only one going through this. emoticon And remember, it was for a good cause! :)

I know exactly how you feel! I am about 15 pounds less than pre-pregnancy weight and my clothes still fit funny. Don't get down on yourself!! You should be celebrating how far you've come! Keep it up!

Friday's: Donut Day at the Office

Friday, May 29, 2009

Ok, so it's a Friday (finally) and as usual someone in the office brings in a "treat" for everyone...this week it's donuts. Now, when I was pregnant I would have been the first one there, enjoying one if not two. However, as I'm only 5-6 lbs. away from my pre-pregnancy weight, I'm not going anywhere near the kitchen until I knew they're gone. As I'm sitting here congratulating myself on being strong, a co-worker walks by and reminds me that there are donuts available in the kitchen. I politely thanked him and say "thanks but I think I'll pass" and what does he do? Rolls his eyes and says "you're not on one of those post-pregnancy diets are you?" Then he proceeds to say, "come on, it's Friday." Um, hello? What is with that?!?! First, what is so bad about wanting to lose your pregnancy weight and second, just because it's Friday are we supposed to stuff our faces with sugary treats?? It seems people feel better about eating stuff like that when there are others doing it as well. Obviously there is nothing wrong with indulging here and there, but if someone chooses not to, why do people feel the need to make comments?

6 lbs and Counting!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Ok, as of today I'm officially 6 lbs away from my goal weight! These last 10 lbs have been the hardest and have taken the longest. After years of diet pills and trying to starve myself, my husband (a Nutrition Consultant) and SparkPeople have taught me how to loose weight the right way. Although it's been over 11 years since my last child and it has almost been 16 weeks since I had my son, it feels great to hear "wow, you don't even look like you had a baby!"

Thank you SparkPeople for giving me the tools to do it right this time!
